Can someone please explain these please because I have never really 'got' these ?
I cannot think of a more weird gift that a flannel ? why not a toothbrush ,toothpaste or even a bar of soap ?
Or is there some significance or something I am missing?
If I want/need flannels ,i buy them to match my bathroom.
  • Can anyone give me any tips for wrapping in cellophane Ive got a sheet not a bag and im trying to wrap a mug and spoon but it seems too messy to me plus I need them by friday as they are for the girls in work, wish i had got the bags now

Place the mug & spoon in the centre of the sheet of cello, pull up the side edges so that they are central over the mug and ensure there is an equal amount of cello on all sides (I normally do front to back first and then the sides). Once you happy with postioning, grab a peg or bulldog clip and join the front and back edge of the cello sheet, place the bulldog clip in the centre. Then take the side edges and place them edge to edge, remove the peg and slide an elasatic band over the cello clump and then tie securely with a piece of curling ribbon. It may look a little scruffy at this point but don't worry, you can pull the cello edges around to get it looking pretty.

Not sure that these are clearest of instructions, but I'm sure someone will be along to explain far better than I can.

I so enjoyed this thread and as I was looking on ebay this morning, came across these, they are lovely, I just had to order them

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-Dotty-Light-Blue-Cupcake-Wrappers_W0QQitemZ200429684713QQcategoryZ57211QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3907.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D40%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54#ht_842wt_939

they have them in all different colours. Not sure if they are big enough to hold a flannel but I have ordered some so will report back.
  • i used these, but managed to get a pack of 6 in poundland

i topped with a red bath pearl, it looks more like an ice cream sundae than a cupcake, but looked cute, i used a white, and baby pink flannel

I've seen yellow flannels in Sainsburys (75p each) and Asda (I think £1 for two).
