  • I'm wanting some advice on what cellophane bags to use?
I am making flannel cupcakes for favours for our civil partnership in April (thanks to the ideas on this thread - thank you all x)
Have got the cases, most of the flannels (buying them with the shopping a few at a time so we don't notice the cost!) and mini chupa chup lollies to use as the cherry. But I'm not sure which bags to get - do they need to have a flat bottom?
Or will these be suitable and sit flat when the flannel cake goes in them?

  • I have been reading this thread and love the look of the sock cupcakes. How do you roll them! I have been trying with a pair of my socks but cannot get them to look right. I have been searching on line to no avail as well.

    Thanks

Help please! I have run out of my muffin cases and desperately need some more for the weekend for a Christmas Fair. Does anyone know where I can get some very quickly? I had the nice strawberry ones from China and of course it will take too long to get them. I am looking for the solid paper ones but anything that is sturdy enough to make the flannel cake will do. All ideas are welcome. Thanks
  • i dont know where else you could get them.. the only alternative would be sainsburies do some nice patterned paper ones... or... try and make them with card?.. i ahve never seen them in a shop only on line.. that or maybe one of the others on here could sell some of theres to you?
  • Can anyone help me please, ive bought some silicone cupcake cases & also some large American muffin cases I found in a local cheap shop & some flannels from Primark but the flannels just seem far to big for the cases & look nothing like the ones on here, am I folding them wrong?? does anyone have any tips please??

I bought bags off ebay and they were lovely
quality,it really gave everything a finishing
touch that made things look a lot less home made.
Below are a few I packed last christmas

    click on pics to enlarge

    th_cupa.jpg

I know Lakeland do a pack they look like
cello bags but they were more like poly bags
once opened the kind you buy to store food
    sandwiches etc in.Never managed to
get the same look with them

Because the ones above were in cello bags,
they were firmer, thicker and this helped a
great deal. Plus they did seem more resistant
    to creasing

The ones you are looking at seem the same as the ones
I bought, hope so because I know I am going to need more
and cannot remember the sellers name.

If you are running short of cases
there are only the foriegn sellers
that have them.Below is one where
I used a piece of grease proof paper
it was an oblong shape and the end
result was pretty good, you could use
nicer paper to get the same result

someone else did the same, tissue paper
wrapped with a piece of card

I used a roll of card wrapped around on these

or you could use a paper doily
