anyway....nappy cakes, pint o socks, flannel muffins, bags of sweets, snowman soup, reindeer food, jars of nothing and some of our cards,
bags of cookies (oat and raisin or chocolate chip)
cupcakes, frosted or iced with high school musical or wrestlers on
these are my fab cups of tea and coffee,
flannels from morrisons (4 for 89p) cups from woolworths value range (28p each) coasters from woolies too (4 for 99p)
my first attempt at reindeer, ignore the eyes, i just didnt want to post pics with them looking eyeless and wrong!
ive used the coloured pipe cleaners i had, i think they look ok, so may not bother with brown pipe cleaners unless i see some while im out
wow lovely stuff, I havent posted on this thread before but have been following it for wks, I have only done some cupcake flannel muffins, which turned out nice I was so pleased with them and kept one to display in my bathroom. I dont have much time with working but this has given me some ideas for pressies for next yr, I love the tea and coffee mugs brill idea, thanks to all on this thread:TI luv freebies0 -

Hi as promised feedback on xmas fayre. We had a table with flannel cakes, reindeer, slipper socks in muffin cases, snowman soup, reindeer oats and flannel logs. The best seller by far was the snowman soup. To my surprise the flannel cakes didn't sell:eek: Reindeers went ok as did reindeer magic oats.
I understand that the fayre didn't get as many people as expected. We came away breaking even (£150)with a lot of stock left. Hopefully will find some where else to sell the rest or save for next years secret santa. What ever we make from here in is profit. At least we covered our costs.

I have managed to find a way to sort out my cake lol, it looked fine from the front but not from the back. So I got some nice red tissue paper ann wrapped it around the back half and made it look like an open packet, then I wrapped a nice ribbon round it to finsh.
I will try to post a picture but at the moment I have lost the memory card to my camera and I am running on little sleep.
(I could be asleep at the lap top soon, which is something I do regular according to my dad lol) Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -

Hi as promised feedback on summer fayre.

Mariae.
interstiing to hear how you ot on at the
Summer fair.I used to do a stall quite a
lot in the past.I always thought that the
summer fairs were a bit of a let down,
from a selling point.the ones that were
the most successful were the ones leading
up to an occassion for example mothers
day,fathers day,easter,christmas.
because the people who attend these fairs
leading up to what ever occassion it is
go with gift buyin in mind ,summer fairs
they tend to go because its a cheap day
out with the kids and nothing particular
in mind.they dont tend to spend a lot
on these ones we would do a massive
lucky dip a long line of baskets with
each one titled,girls ,boys ,dad,mum,gran
grandad,toddler ,baby girls and boys,
cats, dogs(because they often have a pet)
teenagers girl & boy.Everything came from
jumble sales, charity shops anywhere we could
get bits and pieces cheap.people chucking stuff
out.
20p a dip we used to clear around £200 to
£350 dependin on the fair.if you are considering this
for next year, get round all your friends, relatives
and neighbours and ask them to keep all their christmas
wrappin paper afer they have opened their parcels
no matter how torn it is.We built up a good reputaion
for doing this and would see a lot of familiar faces
at each event. as people recognised up from other
events.
The good thing is you broke even and still have stock to
take you onto another sale, you should see if you can get
a stall somewhere localy to boost your profits.:j:j:j0 -
3tabbycats wrote: »Hi, wonder if any of you that have sold reindeers & snowman soup at fairs can help me with a couple of things? My reindeers have got little bells on that aren't that secure & I guess the noses & eyes could be pulled off by a small child, did anyone put a warning ticket or anything on them as unsuitable for children?? Also has anyone buying from you asked for the "ingredients" list for snowman soup? One last thing, honest! what sort of prices have people charged?
Sorry for all the questions!! Was planning on giving some to a charity stall, seemed simple until I started giving it more thought!
i have to put a ingredients list on the back of the snowman soup poem, i have been told by the school pta this has to be done for all homemade products including soaps bubble bath ect...
hoep this helps
