Existing British Gas Tariff ended, Help needed in switching to new dueal fuel tariff
Dear MS Energy Experts,
My current deal with British Gas finished on 31-12-2020 (Energy Plus Protection Dec 2020)
Few new tariffs from British Gas were appearing before December 15, 2020 on there website , I was planning to switch in the new year , unfortunately they are not there now.
Now I am on the British Gas standard tariff.
We are living in the 3 bed semi detached house
Estimated Annual Consumption
Electricity = 3800
Gas = 18500
Any suggestions on which traiff t ochoose and from which supplier, I was planning for Octopus 12M but its still too high as compared to Energy Plus Protection Dec 2020 from British Gas.
Suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this is an example of "you snooze, you lose". If the tariffs that are now gone were good, then you've lost them and you'll have to pick something else from either them or somebody else. All energy prices have gone up since last year so you will almost certainly not find anything as good so you'll have to find the next best tariff available. Remember you had a seven week window to switch without exit fees, so you could have had those tariffs. But too late now.You need to bash your usage into a comparison site (uSwitch, Cheap Energy Club, Citizen's Advice etc) and see what comes back as the cheapest. Where you are now will probably be costing you a fortune.0

Hi,you say,Estimated Annual ConsumptionElectricity = 3800Gas = 18500,don't use estimated figures, look back over previous years for more accurate consumption figures.

Don't restrict your search to dual fuel - put your ACTUAL consumptions in for electric, then gas, then dual fuel and do some sums.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Please can some one direct me to some dual fuel tariffs that are cheaper thanOctopus 12 M Fixed.Thanks in advance.0

Please see my post immediately above. All that is wanted is your actual annual consumption and an address - all suppliers vary their rates around the country and what is best for me might not be best for you.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Now go to switch.which.co.uk and put the info inNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Rule out London Power as it can't supply your area. (that's a quirk of the system)
Do you get a different list when you do separate suppliers - then add the totals together and see if they are cheaper than dual fuel.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
@mazibee This would be difficult to do as the rates that suppliers provide do differ depending on where in the country you live. So what might be cheaper for someone may not also be cheaper for you!
Can I ask which comparison sites you have tried so far to arrive at Octopus 12 M Fixed being your cheapest quote, please?0
