I'm afraid that you've still posted in the wrong place.  Your post should be in the "Energy" section that covers mains gas and electricity.  :)

It's not your fault, the board is badly organised and several of us have been trying to get MSE to alter it - to no avail!

    That's your electric meter - reading 33151

No, the flame symbol and the EG4v11 model number show it's the Gas meter, and the in / out gas pipework can be seen above.
However, it's showing the calculated kWh usage.  Meter readings use the volume (m3) figure and the energy company converts this to the kWh used for billing.
If the meter has gone dumb and the OP has mistakenly been sending kWh readings the consumption will be about 11 times the correct value
The OP needs to send the m3 reading to trigger a corrected bill.

Aren't smart meters wonderful?  They're very expensive, they go dumb, they're often very difficult to read, and as we've seen can trigger massive incorrect bills.
I'm surprised that BG didn't warn of this possibility.  No, on second thoughts, I'm not at all surprised !
It was sooooo much easier when gas meters looked like this.

This - your readings seem to be in the wrong units.  So yes, your bill is wrong.

That's not the meter reading, that's the calculated kWh figure. Gas is metered in m3 and you'll need to press a button on the meter (depending on the model) to display the correct reading.

Go back to BG and explain that the meter has been read incorrectly for some time. They will need to manually recalculate your bills back to when they last have an accurate reading. Depending on when you switched to them or took over the account this may require some unravelling!

Hi all I’ve only switched to them since February 2020 so going to be 1 year soon . So what exactly do I need to tell British Gas that I’ve been giving them kwh readings instead of m3 ? Does the complaints manager in the letter attached already not show some sort of readings kWh / m3  ? I’m so confused I’m nearly 60 so this all new thanks guys xSee attached

You have been giving them the readings off your meter - these are in kWh but they assume they are in units (which are m3) and have treated them accordingly. So they have 'converted' them as though they were units into kWh and got the excessive nonsense they are billing you for.  I would contact them, explain this is what has happened and get them to tell you how they will sort it out and how to sort your meter out for future readings.
