Good afternoon! Late as usual.....
Narc0 I'm so sorry to read of your loss. Please accept my condolences and a hug
Round I loved your post yesterday about the gremlins! I hope you are feeling better today and have kicked those gremlins into touch!
Fayolle thinking of you today, and sending lots of hugs.
Hugs to those returning to work today. I am back tomorrow.
We have taken down the last of the decs (tree came down last week). A shopping list has been made. The rain is due to stop soon, so I will take the dog out. DH is dropping DS to work. They wouldn't let him in this morning as the system had locked him out after his period of isolation 🤦♀️ DH is driving because DS is in pain - not sure why - he called 111 yesterday, and they called back at midnight & prescribed strong painkillers. We don't know how he will be on them, so he is not driving. He is also very tired! But he won't take a sick day!
WM x2, DW done, lunch eaten.9 -
5.45am start. Hospital done, waiting game begins.
Bitterly cold here. I have made a half hearted attempt at flying, given that I am due to be working for the rest of the week, but it hasn’t helped me to warm up as yet.
Towels washed and hung indoors.
HHI done.
Level 1 kitchen given a go. The fridge has been sorted yet again. I also turned out one of the cupboards where I keep losing box lids down a gap to the back of the shelf below. Cupboard rearranged, not sure why that has taken me so long to get round to.
WULTD all the bits that wouldn’t go in the dw. Full dw now running.
Prawns from the freezer to make a stir fry for dinner. That will also use up some of the lurking veg.
DH has been to the shop for bread and to post a parcel to NI. Had to complete a customs form...
I need to take DD to her haircut appointment in a bit, while we are still allowed to go to hairdressers. Small town is stupid busy with people driving in from neighbouring tier 4 areas...
Thinking of all those back at work, and Narc0.GI - I hope your DS is ok9 -
Thanks for all your kind thoughts, prayers and comments. We are wading through the information/instructions about what to do in Covid times regarding funeral etc. It sounds as if it may just be me, Mr N and his gym friend who lives locally; we don't want anyone risking their health by travelling to germ-ridden Herts/Essex, and that may include BIL as he lives 130 miles away. At least that will make it easy and quick - no food to organise, I will do the flowers. Mr N is bearing up very well; he's in practical mode and has already made a lot of phone calls and lists. Much of everything is on line now. I'm just hoping he isn't trying to stay strong for me; I cry so easily despite my best intentions.
Anyway, I have been catching up on a load of admin stuff too until Mr N gives me any tasks. All uni work up to date so I'm just filing the debris, updating the planner and task list. I've been down the 'flagged' emails and dealt with most of those.
Fly-wise I have put away dry washing, sorted out/consolidated all flower arrangements/vases and done some general tidying.
Mr N had a long chat with our previous engineer and left a message with the local engineer in the hope we may get some blithering central heating soon, although the combination of range/plug-in radiators/lounge gas fire are doing pretty well.
Sounds likely we may all be locked down again, seems Boris is making an announcement at 8pm.
Hugs to all.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Just been to the local shops for a few bits for OH pack up tomorrow.
3rd load now in TD, 1st load HHI and away, 2nd in ironing basket
Food from freezer for tonight
DD2 has sorted her bathroom stuff and managed to put some stuff in the bin, she is a hoarder and can't do it alone so I was present to offer moral support
Photographed, measured and sent details to friend who might be interested in taking our piano. Fingers crossed they want it.
Spending and savings spreadsheets up to date but I had put in having the roof redone which hasn't happened, but I did show the money as being spent so need to go and remove it from 2020 and put it in 2021, this will leave us having made a big profit in 2020 but we want to change my car in 2021 so won't have spare money to do roof and buy car. I need to carry my profit over.
Sounds like OH is finishing, might try and bring wine o'clock forward as the weather is horrid! What an excuse, I know!
Hugs, spoons & positive thoughts to all of you, hope Boris doesn't impact you all too much

Hi again xx
Round 1 completed + paid rent, C Tax and electricity bill.
Clock on the mantelpiece has been joined by a framed photo of DS (which was on the kitchen table - don't ask!) and an angel (which has been in a box in the living room for the past year. And that's all that's going to live on there. I need to find homes for the dufus that were removed.
I wonder what delights BJ will come up with tonight. Work have identified me as one of their most vulnerable employees (glad I didn't know that all year!!!) and I have my first vaccination tomorrow.

Hi all
Paid stuff done. I survived. That's all I can say really. Made fish pie and cottage pie for tea. Cleaned all worktops and cupboard doors, cleaned microwave, cleaned all tiles, dusted, cleaned sink with Viakal. I didnt get the halogen oven cleaned, and I still need to clean the DW filters. One load of washing over the airer first thing and now finishing off in the tumbler.
Waiting to hear what Boris has to say, I am mostly working from home and not going out much anyway, but I feel for everyone whose lives have been really affected by this. DH is suffering with a bad back, and is going for treatment on Friday so hoping that can go ahead.11
