Hi all, had a small alcohol intake yesterday. Someone in a supermarket queue in front of mre dropped a bottle of vodka! I tried to hold my breath. But that doesn't count
11/29 today and Armistice day. I watched a WW1 film clip on a battle at Paschendaale (sp?) and it was ghastly. And we moan about the price of milk. My grandfather went to the Somme and didn't come back. He was 19 when killed. Never saw his son who was six weeks old, my dad. Horrible times.
Anyway, back on a happier note, that's 570 UK days without a drink. Mind you, I'm keeping PG Tips employees busy!
Back to Menorca in summer, excited already (I'm such a child!).Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!5 -
8/25 for me today please.
I too had an internal argument with the wine-devil saying "I deserved it", as I'd done great work bringing together a diverse group of volunteers as we hosted our first "warm & cosy" community initiative, where the local churches liaised to open their halls, each on different days, and offer free tea, coffee, soup, etc - but I resisted and told myself no, I'm exhausted and if I have wine I'll just be wiped out for the next day (today). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?6 -

Well done Satchmo, that little voice is a PITA. Mine was telling me it would be ok just to have 1 cake but I resisted.9/18 days for me. House is like a fridge at the moment as our boiler blew up (it really did go bang!) and the house is like a fridge. Warm cups of tea are more desirable than cold beers. I'm trying to spend time outside so the house feels warmer when I'm in it!Nothing to see here, move along.6

12/29 here today, good gig last night with a band I'd only rehearsed with once! Another dep tonight, I've played with these folk before so less stressful preparation - just 2 new songs to learn. Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!5
