Unexpected social occasions marahouti?? What are they?? 🤣😉
7/10 AFDs please Cathy5 -
@marahouti thanks for your post interesting to hear your view point re posting after having it in the bag and normal relationship with alcohol. Tbh my issue isn't with drink itself more that a few drinks in I know I'm more likely to go on to the next level which now I'm in recovery for has lead me to think about my drinking much more than I usually would too. Planning to have a drink on Sunday (valentines champagne with the wife) and absolutely paranoid one minute it'll be a civilised drink with a meal at home, the next I'll be back to sniffing coke at all hours. Shouldn't happen I know, wife doesn't do it, never has and is very supportive of me moving away from doing it so no temptations there and have been able to enjoy a drink with her at home without it leading to anything else. 100% the paranoia is because the last time I did have a drink I was using coke fairly heavily.
Agree with @maman though... what is this social occasion you mention ha?

☺️☺️. Think I'm indulging in a bit of nostalgia, I should have said when we had social occasions. I wonder whether Chinese New Year 🐂🎇 counts 🤔4

After a tiring and difficult day wfh I was very tempted. But I stayed strong. Ok actually I crawled into bed, sulked and cried a bit and then pulled myself together. An hour later I was feeling pleased I hadn't caved in. Committing early to 7/13 - heart smiley day for me!

Hello all. 10/25 for me please cathybird. Thank you as always for keeping score on our behalf.
I had a few drinks on Sat night, first time since NYD, so a little over 5 weeks. It really was just a few drinks (three beers and a measure of single malt) but I felt really ‘out of sorts’ all day Sunday. It wasn’t a hangover, it was a different feeling, and anyway I’d hardly overdone it in terms of units. Thing is I’d noticed the same thing happened after again having just two or three drinks on NYD, I was just whacked out the following day, no energy, feeling vaguely green around the gills etc. Not that I’m sure any of you want to hear about all that, but I wonder if leaving it so long between having alcohol is somehow making me gradually intolerant to it, or that it’s a something of a shock to the system when I do have a drink. Anyone else experienced anything like this? I mean it’s a good thing in some ways because now I have even less inclination to drink.2
