Pollycat, I've recently found friends & 'friends of friends' (not just me) who have had the following happen: 1. Receive goods, they are faulty. 2. Contact SD, who say return them. 3. Several days after SD have received them back & given Reason for Return: Faulty, only purchase price has been refunded. 4. Contact SD & point out they should refund both initial & return postage costs. 5. Wait a few days, no refund... 6. Complain to SD, who then say "they are under no obligation to refund postage". 7. Log into your SD account & find that 'mysteriously' Reason for Return has changed to "Customer Changed Mind". It is quite obvious that the old adage 'Leopards Don't Change Their Spots' is very true where SD are concerned. I don't blame the staff - they are only doing what they are told to do, or their job may be on the line. This is a policy decision from above. Incidentally, I have taken the matter of pricing up with CAB (Trading Standards), who said: "With Internet sales, any price on an item (whether a stick-on label or printed as part of the packaging) is the price that should be charged, unless further discounted by the seller. The seller can ask for more (than is displayed on the item) but this must be made clear before purchase." - Try telling that to SD & getting them to abide! Lols The only reason I ordered online (first time in about 2 years) is my inactive immune system, therefore at severe Covid risk & local SD store was closed, having moved into Tier 4. I suppose the moral of my scenario is Do NOT shop online at SD!0

"...The seller can ask for more (than is displayed on the item) but this must be made clear before purchase."
Was the price displayed on the item page, the price displayed in your basket, the price displayed at checkout or the price displayed at the point where you enter your card details not clear?0 -
Did CAB advise which law that is? And not to be mean but CAB will be in high demand with lots of people needing help so maybe dont contact them about you being unhappy at paying the agreed price for a product.0

I'd be more worried about having to pay £5 for the bus pass. I live in Kent and get mine for free. You only pay if you lose it and it needs replacing, which is fare enough (sorry couldn't resist). I think your council is scamming you. To be honest, I have yet to live somewhere where you pay for a bus pass.0

My (age-related) bus pass is free too.I wonder which council charges £5.00..0

According to this https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-elderly-person-bus-pass it is free0
