Phoebe you DH sounds just like mine! He has more clothes than me and refuses to part with anything!
My champagne moment today, we had the day out, shopping etc., We had a lovely breakfast out of coffee and croissant and afternoon tea with cake. I managed to get all the shopping (bar milk etc) for the month.Debt free and Keeping on Track5 -

Happy 1st Birthday Shylo 🎂
Helen, hope the electrician solves your lighting woes!
After last night's downpours it's a lovely spring-like, sunny day today so I really should be outside moving more bluebells, but I'm struggling to get motivated so far and have instead been snuggling up in the reading nook, immersing myself in more of the compelling-but-tinged-with-sadness/regret The Prickotty Bush.
I was hoping to channel some positivity with regard to getting the mill to a stage where we'll never want to leave (DH is already there, but for me - being a glass half empty kind of person - it's more of a challenge, and I'm still trying to get over the *loss* of our previous home 🙄)...and I believe I'm finally getting there!
As I read more, I'm seeing so many similarities between us and MD (albeit his experiences were on a significantly grander scale) - the love of gardening, former life linked to design, relinquishing the dream house and subsequently purchasing a repo, the regret and mental health issues, SAD etc etc...
If Monty managed to turn things around after hitting such a low, then so can I 😁
Going to make some lunch, then head outside.....

Lovely and sunny here today. Met my friend for morning coffee, was a really lovely catch up and gossip. We tend to meet up once every quarter so lots of news to exchange. I wore my tweed coat and skirt and a nice jazzy scarf.Debt free and Keeping on Track5

Had a fantastic birthday. The finale was last night, a beautiful meal out then the holiday reveal. My daughters are taking me next weekend to Istanbul and Cappaddocia where I am staying in a fairy chimney suite. We will be going on hot air balloon trip, turkish evening, wine tasting evening and pottery making in the week. We have a guide joining us who we've been on excursions with in olu deniz area. I cannot wait! they got me a big cake with hot air balloon on and an hot air balloon pandora charm to complete the birthday as well as my other gifts including flowers. I have been truly spoilt all week!

I had a lovely meal out yesterday at the coast. I had a delicious vegetable lasagne. I never make lasagne at home as I find it too much work.
It wasn't very lemonade budget but at least we didn't go to a lot of bars afterwards as one was shut and the others were so busy. It meant we were home quite early so we just watched a film.
My brother is coming over to stay over a night this week which will be nice as I haven't seen him since his birthday at the start of December. I think I might make veggie spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and a salad with a caesar dressing for us.:)
I noticed how much my legs hurt after walking around yesterday so I put my trainers on and went out for a brisk 30 minute walk this morning. I am very out of shape after having to rest at home after cracking my rib. I need to sure I do that every day to build up my fitness again!

Happy Birthday Sheila 💐 Your holiday sounds like it's going to be amazing!!! Lucky you...hope you have a fantastic time 😄
Today's champagne moments - our plumbing/heating engineer has been here this morning fitting the sage green cast iron radiator with antique style brass valves in the guest room 😀
There was a minor hitch which means we've had to order some cast iron feet that won't be here till Tuesday, so for now it's propped up rather inelegantly on wooden blocks. He'll return in a week or so (after his hols) to fit the feet, but it already looks fab!
He's also temporarily cut off existing pipework into the PO's extension (that they'd had threaded through a beautiful 400 year old beam 🙄) so we can reroute this when we're ready to fit the new cast iron radiator in there. Total cost for two hours work - £40 😁
Fillet steak with homemade madeira wine sauce to look forward to this evening 😋Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
