MrsPorridge said:Phoebe, that is a lovely reading nook. I use mine all the time. Enjoy.
I really need to get a new phone as I hadn't realised how untrue to life the colours in my pics have become. Our room is actually way more vibrant than it appears above, lol!
I'm only able to access the internet via my mobile these days (till we get satellite broadband connected) and can't link my old digital camera to it, but object to replacing a phone that is otherwise ok 🙄Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Phoebe thank you for your lovely words. Your reading nook looks fabulous, regardless if your camera is not up to scratch.
My Champagne moment yesterday evening was going to Black Cultural Archives in Brixton for Poetic Unity's Open Mic event. I performed 3 of my poems: Memories Of A Lost Child, I Am A Woman and My Revenge. There were lots of young poets both male and female who were astonishingly talented, so I had a great evening.

I'm afraid I've a bit of a lighting obsession going on at the moment, although as always I'm trying to keep within the 'champagne lifestyle, lemonade budget' perameters 😉
I think I said we were replacing the kitchen ceiling lights? Well, this weekend's first champagne moment was getting these Japanese inspired fabric stunners with red corded flex and chrome roses fitted 😍
Although they weren't exactly cheap (£155 for the two), imho they elevate the room way more than the considerably pricier ones I almost chose!
They make a real statement in the space - which was exactly what I was hoping for as their predecessors were nice but dim, lol! The same definitely can't be said for the new additions - DH and I both love them to bits ❤️ - as they certainly make the kitchen glow with colour and pattern....
...and I'm so pleased that by *shopping small* I supported a lovely, friendly independent business 😄 They're nowhere near local to us, but delivery was super quick with my items being beautifully packaged too!
Second champagne moment was picking up two large (5kg) bags of daffodil bulbs in The Range for £1.99 each...reduced from £5.99! These are ultimately intended for the to-be-further-extended hot beds, but till I get round to clearing the space, they'll be potted and popped anywhere that will benefit from a sunny yellow fix 😎
Thirdly, speaking of which, it's been mostly blue skies and sunshine here over the weekend...no storms thankfully.....
Hope you've all had a relaxing, champagne moment filled weekend!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I haven't yet decided what to with the overly long flex on our new Japanese inspired fabric lights in the kitchen - so currently they're tied up! Will possibly swag them from hooks in the ceiling 😉
