My champagne moment today - just seen a great tit going into my birdhouse, then another one went in and they were both in there for a few seconds then one came out, then the other one - fingers crossed they build a nest in there. Last year we had a sparrow family.Debt free and Keeping on Track5

How exciting, Mrs P 😊 We usually get birds nesting in a gap between the stones our home is built from. I'm dreading repointing in lime (which we need to do at some stage, not least because of the mice 🙄) as it will prevent future nesting.....
Today's champagne moment - my (very early!) birthday gift arriving 😁
I'm another one with a birthday during Feb and recently DH asked what I'd like. He always buys me a little (inexpensive, fun) surprise too, but for my main gift I usually choose something for the home. I've been known to suggest paint and plaster, lol, but it's more likely to be plants or lampshades etc 🤣
For ages I've been looking for a vintage drinks trolley in a very distinct style. So many of the modern ones are Art Deco in appearance, which - having done that as a student/in my early twenties - isn't my thing. I've been unsuccessfully scouring eBay and Vinterior etc since I was gutted to lose out on the perfect one last year....
Anyway, at the weekend one was listed that - apart from different coloured *shelves* to the other one - was identical to that which I'd missed!
Unbeknown to me, DH purchased it and arranged delivery via Shiply 😊
As I was going to be home alone when it arrived, he had to spill the beans and said I may as well have it now... which is all a bit academic as we're about to pack away the snug contents ahead of the next phase of building work, so sadly dressing my lovely new trolley with our booze collection at the moment is pointless 🙄
However, I'm delighted with my fabulous gift (and my amazing DH for buying it ❤️) so might celebrate early with a G&T whilst watching The Apprentice tonight 🥂
It's been a beautiful sunny day too 😀Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

My Champagne moment on Tuesday afternoon was going to my local Odeon cinema to watch the musical In The Heights. It was a Silver Screen ticket so it only cost me £3.50 online and I got a free cup of tea. I was the only person watching the film. I got swept away with all of the Latin American dances and singers, all of whom were incredibly talented. It was a real feel good film and it was just such a pick me up for me.
It was 10/10 for me.

Lovely, Sugarbaby...how pleasant to have the cinema to yourself too 😊
Yesterday's champagne moment - quickly popped into TK Maxx enroute to Tesco and found a warm, brightly coloured jumper reduced from £135 to £43 😀 As I'm in the process of attempting to bring more colour into my - mainly black! - wardrobe, I couldn't resist!
Today's champagne moment - I'd been holding off from buying the chest of drawers for the guest room as we were hoping to go to the Malvern flea market tomorrow (first time we'd have been to a flea or antique fair since November 2019 because of the pandemic cancelling them!!!) as we thought we might find one there....but the weather is set for heavy rain/strong winds so have decided to abandon the idea.
Instead, I have just pulled the trigger on the antique chest of drawers I'd previously been coveting on eBay and arranged for Shiply to collect/deliver.... total cost for chest/delivery only £231 😁
It should be here early next week!
The room isn't quite finished yet - I knew it would take longer, these things always do, lol! - but everything is falling into place now....
Have a good weekend everyone 😃Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I had a lovely day out yesterday. I went to Leigh-on-sea to look at some charity shops and then ate a snack on Chalkwell beach and watched the dogs playing on the sand as it looked like a dog walking group were meeting there. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and like Spring. I had lunch at a restaurant with a glass of wine afterwards and then came home by train. On the train back I realised I did 4 and a half hours of walking. I feel achy today! I didn't spend that much either.:)
I'm going out tonight to meet a couple of friends and it is nice weather again, chilly but very sunny and bright. I might get dinner out at the bar later as well.2025 GOALS
