Hi everyone! Hope the weekend has been a good one without too much of the white stuff?!?! No snow here, just some weak sunshine but thankfully no rain either. I've been catching up with paperwork whilst snuggling on the kitchen sofa by the wood burner for most of the weekend 😉
Champagne moments - the laundry cupboard is starting to really take shape now and I think we're on target to have it finished within the next couple of weeks! The iroko worktop arrived and DH has begun fitting it, although until the mini Belfast style sink is here he cannot complete this.
The floor tiles (of which we bought twice as many as we needed so have loads spare to sell when times allow 🙄) are about to be grouted and we've managed to find a space for one of our antique Arts and Crafts wall cabinets (by Shapland & Petter) adjacent to the entrance. It's a perfect fit as the copper hinges and panel complement our collection of copper pots/pans etc in the kitchen proper ❤️ For now it will be used to hold dusters, but long term these will go in the vintage style *housekeeper's cupboard* we plan to build elsewhere....
Of course, as always, it's turned into project creep as we've now concluded that our ten year old washing machine that has spent the past three years outdoors in an open sided outbuilding should be replaced....more decisions, lol!
The whole space is going to be small but perfectly formed, especially when compared to how it looked - and smelled - only a month ago 😮
Meanwhile DH is still keeping my flagging spirits up by bringing home plenty of cut flowers and bulbs, the latest being three pots of hyacinths found in the local co-op this morning. My paper whites are on the verge of flowering too 😊
Only real downside - apart from the ever present joint spectres of covid and lockdown - is that the camera on my mobile is acting up, taking rather blurry/muted pics, although I managed to take this ok-ish one of the current kitchen flowers......

You are doing so well Phoebe with the renovations. Lovely bright flowers.Hello my lovely friends.Champagne moment.....waking up without a headache today. I felt really groggy after the vaccine, 5 days of headaches and feeling very tired but thankfully back to normal today. Still a few days of days of discomfort is a small price to pay to be vaccinated against covid.Today I'm going to do some more more decluttering and sorting out stuff for charity shops when they open and a trip to the recycling plant when it's a bit warmer.Keep warm, well and safe. X7

My son came with his laundry on Wednesday and decided to stay for a visit. He had lunch and dinner with us. He and his sister had fun together and there was lots of laughter in my home
I finally found the solid oak bookcase that I wanted for myself from Oak Furniture Land in the sale which was reduced from £549 to £299 saving me £250It will be delivered early June, which gives me time to rearrange my Living room to fit it in.
