My Champagne moment today:
I went to a sharing performance by the members of Taking Part, which is a programme run by The Young Vic. They are male and female members who are all over 55 years of age who like to create different types of performances for an audience. There was a lot of musical and acting content and spoken word. It was a really enjoyable event.I then had a chat with one of the members of Neighbourhood Voices, who gave me the details for a short story competition.
We then had a free lunch for everyone, including the performers laid on by the Sea Containers hotel. It was a cold and hot buffet and a dessert trolley for us all to choose from.

Hello Savingmore.Thank you. Don't worry I won't abandon you. I'll probably start a new thread at some point.8

savingmore said:Helen….just caught up on your thread in last couple of days. I have read and followed from beginning and used to post. I am not sure what has happened since some posts have been deleted but it’s YOUR thread so I feel you should be able to post what you want, your views (obviously matching boards guidelines). I am upset you feel you can’t. Please do start another thread, you have much to contribute and inspire others and if folk don’t like it, perhaps they can start their own
thread. Please don’t leave your loyal fans 🤷♀️😀2 -
Thanks Iris ❤️New Thread. La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life) - on a tiny budget. In the Old Style Section.6

Ashamedly I am a reader and not much of a poster. Helen was very kind when I lost my Husband to Motor Neurone disease, replying to my messages. I hope that you reconsider and stay, because you will be missed x

Hi Helen, I have followed both threads you started and will continue to do so on your new thread - you are a very inspirational woman and you would be greatly missed. Haven’t been on for a couple of days so not sure what I missed 🤔 but anyhoo will follow you over to the new thread. X4

@Sugarbaby - I have enjoyed reading your reviews of films and plays. How is your own play going?5
-
Wee Nancy in America, thank you.
I finished my play in October 2022. I have entered my play in 2 playwriting competitions with The Bread and Roses theatre and the Bush theatre. I will have achieved another goal if I get onto the long list of either competition. I have to wait until at least August 2023 before either theatre will be deciding, so I will just continue to enjoy my life until I hear if I have made either long list.

@Sugarbaby125 - will be keeping eyes and fingers crossed for you. Writing isn't easy. I write books - and figuring out the order to put things in is really hard - and then when you start to write, everything seems to need to be rearranged. And when you finish - it is like it is your baby and the wait to see what will happen is agonizing.4

Wee Nancy in America, congratulations on being a writer of books.
I do not think I could ever write a book, I really admire authors.
