sugarbaby125 said:Helen, I removed my succinct response to your post. I think it was appropriate that you removed it. You are entitled to hold whatever opinion you want to, but it is best this thread it kept for us all to celebrate our moments of personal joy, triumph and celebration.
Ladies, I hope that we can keep this thread as comments on our personal Champagne moments.
I don't get why giving a 10/10 for reading drivel is an acceptable post but slating it is not acceptable
Was better when more people contributed regularly8 -
Can we please draw a line under this discussion about this book now, please.
My champagne moments have been few and far between this month. I have spent so much on home repairs. The bill now for the roof and general repairs is at £10,000 at least.😑
I am at least healthy and happy and I am meeting some friends tomorrow, one of the friends I haven't seen since 2019.
Take care everyone.5 -
surely Helen should be able to post what she likes ,it’s her thread
anyone who doesn’t like it should start their own14 -
Thank you Suffolksue and Paspatur and to all those of you who took the time to send me a private message. Your kindness and votes of confidence are very much appreciated.Sue....it's true I did start this thread but I have never considered it as "mine" and that I should set boundaries or tell people what they could or could not post.It is a great pity that a situation has now arisen where some posters are feeling intimidated and that they are no longer free to express their views. Paspatur I am sorry you feel you need to "bow out" but I do understand why you consider it necessary.I firmly believe that no one has the right to tell any of our contributors what they can and cannot write on this thread. There have been occasions when I have read posts that have jarred with me but I have refrained from passing comment because I believe in freedom of expression and am of the opinion that all viewpoints are valid and deserve to be heard.I have nothing further to say, except, with regret, I too no longer wish to be part of this thread.I bid you all farewell, with love and heartfelt best wishes.9

Helen I have read along from the start and used to enjoy it. Sad to see what has happened and hope you might start a new thread in the future8

My Champagne moment yesterday:
I went to Gospeloke at the Blues Kitchen in Brixton yesterday evening. I only had to pay £4 for my ticket. This was my 1st visit to Gospeloke, which turned out to be Karaoke with a live gospel choir to back up the Karaoke singers.
It was such a fun filled night. There were 2 young women in their twenties, who got talking to me and encouraged me to get up and dance with them when the DJ was playing.
The evening exceeded my expectations. There was a mixture of singers, but the winners on the night, which were a male and female duo were simply outstanding. They both had such musical voices, both in tone and range.
I bought the song choices home with me, so I can learn a few of the songs. Next time, I might get up on the stage and sing.

I too have lurked and occasionally commented. I have so enjoyed this thread and following your journey Helen. I'm so pleased that you seem to be settled and happy with the occasional wobble and I was looking forward to reading about the next part of your journey. I don't know you but I feel as though I do, I feel like I have lost a friend.

Oh My Days!!!Poppy, srn, & carolbee
thank you so much for your kind, generous, loving and supportive posts. I am quite overwhelmed.Never fear, I shall still be around, I will still be your friend. I can currently be found occasionally posting on the Frump to Fab thread. I WILL think about another lifestyle thread at some point. One of these fine days I might even get round to starting my own blog.....
I have been threatening to do so for long enough. 😉Yes, it's been quite a journey since 2006 when my husband first got sick, but I'm still here, alive and kicking, dodging life's curved balls. I'm nothing special, it's just what we humans do. As Churchill said "we just keep b@ggering on".
Back from my chiro appt, another small step on my road back to wellness. Just tucking into a very naughty Cornish pasty. Tonight's curry is in the slow cooker so I can take it easy now and rest. My grandchildren are a delight but having them here 24/7 is exhausting. I definitely need a "nanna nap" today. Lol.Yesterday my champagne moment was the 4 year old shyly tiptoeing into my room at the crack of dawn. When I told him he could come in he threw himself at me smothering my face in kisses. He smelt gorgeous. Can't think of a nicer way to be woken up.14 -
Helen….just caught up on your thread in last couple of days. I have read and followed from beginning and used to post. I am not sure what has happened since some posts have been deleted but it’s YOUR thread so I feel you should be able to post what you want, your views (obviously matching boards guidelines). I am upset you feel you can’t. Please do start another thread, you have much to contribute and inspire others and if folk don’t like it, perhaps they can start their own
thread. Please don’t leave your loyal fans 🤷♀️😀9
