Good afternoon everyone
Unfortunately I will be spending my NYE in my room on my own as tested positive for COVID on the 29th. Just felt like I had a head cold - headache and a slight cough and felt a bit tired.I had no temperature or a continuous cough. As someone has been in work who had tested positive even though I was not in immediate contact - person had similar symptoms but person finished nights as I started days I thought I’d better do a test before going back to work.So I have completed a jigsaw, watched 3 films, rested, done some crochet too.
Ruby - hope your appointment goes well, glad you enjoyed your snow.
Bella - thinking of you, sounds like a hard decision to make.
Nanny - glad you’re feeling better.
Meanmarie - thinking of you.
wishing everyone a happy new year. Hope 2021 is better for us all. Take care.14 -
Bobbing in to wish every one a good NYE and hope for a better 2021. We usually spend it with friends who retired to Spain but come over normally to spend xmas with their family, sadly not this year. We are now elevated to T4. Quiet night in anyone?Never thought I'd be glad DS is a single parent
but at least it means he's in our bubble/childcare thingy. We've been over this morning as we woke to quite a lot of snow and he wants to take the kids sledging so we took waterproofs and some food he forgot to order, they were giddy seeing the snow, not had much the last couple of years.
May go for a walk after a snack while it still looks pretty! Will finish the soup off then that gets rid of the big bowl out of the fridge. SM delivery yesterday, the freezers are chokka.Result yesterday - we went to the bank with our change pot money, and DSons. They have a new machine in which is really fast at counting the coins. DH puts any change in, pound coins the lot so ours was more ,£300 and DS2s 200 ish. Gone in my account too as DH goes to a different bank . I'll be sensible though , it can go towards the deficit caused by pressie buying :)No more waffle, but will wish you all the best x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
Sorry I've not been posting (not that there's lots to post about) but a one year old makes life very busy, plus he's attracted to the laptop and phone like a magnet so I try not to use them when he's around. I didn't fall asleep until 4am this morning so I don't think I'll last until the party tonight. So have a Happy New Year everyone, hopefully 2021 will be an improvement.
Unfortunately, Brian's mum has been taken back into hospital so they have that worry while being unable to do anything, it really is a horrible situation. I hope things improve so that they can go up before the worst happens.

Afternoon everyone
We had a little snow last night but it's back to rain now. I popped down to the shop with little one for some milk this morning and then to mam and dads - she had a lovely sing-song with her great grandad, both of them getting louder with each rendition of twinkle twinkle little star! She'll be two on Sunday - I don't know where the time has gone. She still has her problems - she's fed through a tube into her tummy and has chronic lung disease and perhaps another problem developing with her lungs - but she really is the happiest, liveliest little girl and I love being her granny.
Eldest DD has gone to Newcastle today to get a Covid test which will allow her to get back home to Sweden. ( as long as it's negative) The test is at 3.30 and she has to be back in Sweden by 3.30 on Sunday, otherwise it's deemed invalid and she has
to have another one. She has a flight booked on Saturday at 5pm, changing at Amsterdam then on to Stockholm - there's no direct flights at all now. Problem is it could take 72 hours to get the test results - by which time she'll have missed her flight and the results will be out-of-date to fly......
Fingers crossed it works out please
We have some nice meats and cheese to make a platter tonight so we'll have that when she gets home and watch the last 2 episodes of Bridgerton. Has anyone else watched it?
I've got bolognaise sauce cooking so that will turn into lasagne tomorrow - nice and easy. Hope you all have a good day and wish you all a Happy New Year10 -
Just popping in to wish everyone a Happy New Year for later
Like a few of you I may not make it until midnight having another quiet day

Back to wish each and every one of you a much better new year than this one has been! It can't be much worse can it! Can it??!! I have never seen the need for hyper revelling at New Year, it's just another day to me and I shall be tucked up in bed by about 10 pm as usual! I've got an assortment of picking bits out to defrost and I shall spend the evening grazing on them, accompanied by the wine that is chilling in readiness.
I braved the lying snow and caught the bus down into town after all. Surprised to find it wasn't as slippery as I was expecting it to be. Came back quick smart with the few bits I wanted on the next bus up cos, by heck, it was blooming cold! It hasn't got above minus 1 all day, . I just got back in time for DS stopping by to have a doorstep chat and swap greetings for 2021. He and his DP are planning a cosy evening in the hot tub with a bottle of champers to see in the new year.
SNOOZER it's a worry for Brian when he can't visit his DM.
DP1 Fingers crossed for a quick result so DD can catch her flight
TOPSY Here's to a speedy recovery and I hope the symptoms remain relatively mild.
Thanks for your company throughout this traumatic year and for putting up with me waffling on about nothing in particular. Cheers everybody and looking forward to a better 2021.for us all Much love to you all from TA and the Sparkly cat! xx
