    But this is not a PCP deal where the Finance Co do own the car - It's an HP deal where although the Finance Co. have a lien on the car until it's fully paid for, they don't own the car and have no right to enforce the OP to give up his consumer rights
    PCP is just HP Finance by another name, the only difference being a large part of the payment is deferred to the end. Apart from that they are exactly the same financial instruments and ownership remains with the finance provider until all payments have been paid.

    If the OP wants to reject the vehicle then they just work with the finance provider and 14 days aside they must allow the seller time to inspect the vehicle first, as would be the case with any goods purchased.

    The OP bought the car 2 weeks ago and the Dealer / Finance Company now say to give them 14 days to inspect. report, repair the car.  A cynic might say that is an attempt to wind down the clock past the 30 days rejection period.

    The OP has sent an official rejection letter within 2 days of acquisition.  It won't do any harm to reiterate that in writing again by special delivery.  Given that Nissan and the Finance Company have both acknowledged the car has a degraded battery this would appear to be an open and shut case.

    The OP did not mention how old the car is or how many miles it has covered.  I have read much in these forums about how great the warranties are on electric car batteries so I wonder why Nissan did not pick this up to resolve when the OP took the car for the service required to maintain the warranty.  According to the Nissan website, the warranty on the battery is from 5 years 60k miles up to 8 years 100k miles depending on exactly which car it is.

    The car is 4 years old and 30k miles:

    I had been left with 2 weeks to get the car a major service by Nissan otherwise the car warranty would have been void. It needs a Nissan service every year to keep the warranty and it hadn’t had one for 2020. I paid to get this done at £209. 

    The finance company have said that the car has been rejected and the Wind down period takes 14 days. During this time the dealer can have a chance to disprove any findings which would be very hard to do.

    They haven't said anything about repairing the car and the 30 days rejection period cannot be "wound down", it's now on pause until a suitable remedy has been agreed upon.

    And there's nothing wrong with that. These things take a bit of time, 14 days isn't unreasonable.

    It's very unreasonable if you don't have access to another car.  It's all a game to these people.

    For the OP to reject the car seems the correct approach in this case.
    14-days to resolve is not unreasonable, but does leave the OP without a car which is highly inconvenient.

    I do wonder why Nissan did not honour the battery state of health warranty?  4 yo and 30k miles appears to be covered whatever battery it is.

    I'm currently waiting to get my car in to the dealership to take a look an issue and when I eventually get it in next week it will be almost 14 days, a PITA having to wait this long yes but not unreasonable given the current situation and time of year.

    Nissan have a very low opinion of their own battery. This battery has lost 1 bar of health and has lost nearly 60 miles of range they won’t do anything under warranty until it loses 3 bars of health within 10 years or 100k miles. Not ideal at all as it’s lost so much range that it’s unusable for me. It also has a faulty cell which means the when I get to around 30 miles of range it can just shutdown at any moment which left me stranded for 4 hours down a dark road waiting for the RAC. I may have opted for a fix here but the dealer was so rude to me I have rejected the car.

    Unless I've missed something there seems to be an assumption that this was from a Nissan Dealer ? Was it ?

    If so then 
    a) why was it let out of the door without having had the service done
    b) why aren't you involving Nissan under the approved used guarantee
