Pizza for us tonight as well GP - will have to have a rummage to see what toppings will be used, though I do remember seeing some mushrooms that need using up as well as a never ending jar of olives.  There may also be some chopped bacon ends or leftover sausages lurking in the freezer!

Thought of you GP when at lunch, halfway through the penultimate mouthful of two lightly curried sweetcorn fritters, DS1 declared "these fritters are awful"  sadly for him I made him swallow the mouthful so I could understand what he was saying!

Oh Viking - I hear ya 😆  Why do our darling children wait until they've eaten most of these things to declare the yukkiness? 😆

Well, the rugger was brill yesterday - although I really thought that Scotland were going to do it.  No disrespect to the Welsh team, but on the field of play, I thought Scotland had it edged, at all times.  Pity about the red card though.  I enjoyed the England match - but do I think it was an historic performance from the team?  Erm no.........  I just couldn't watch the injury to Jack Willis though - thankfully I didn't see it in real-time, and I have to say that the initial decision to NOT show the replay was the correct one.........   

Tea ended up being a bit of a freezer dig, as I spent far too much time, just plain and simple enjoying myself, knitting and watching the rugger...... so we ended up having fish fingers, chips and mushy peas at summat past 7pm...... 😮It was actually better for NOT overloading on the oven chips (note to self*), and 3 clean plates were were returned to the sink.  

And yes, thank you for asking, I do actually feel better for having spent a little time doing something that 'I' wanted to do..............

Needless to say there were no properties added to the market yesterday.  We had an 'easy' NSD - and didn't go without.  I think DH did pop the heating on a tadge earlier than it would normally come on, but the cost will be relatively negligible in the grand scheme of things - and we've managed quite well during this cold spell with keeping warm in alternative ways.

Tea today should feature mushrooms, but I'm not quite sure which way to go with things at the mo.  I've have a think over my second cup of coffee.......We should be able to grab a NSD.  We don't need anything that I know of.  There is an item of clothing to be returned to MrS, as it doesn't fit, but realistically that could be done another day.  I'd love to know why designers make clothes for twiglet thin, tall kids..... if you go up a size, it just means the sleeves or legs are longer, there is no extra girth in the trunk - and as for trousers lacking effective gussets so that kids can ruuuuunnnnnnn and juuuuuuummmppppp and cllliiiiiiiimmmmmmbbbb.  Nope, let's keep 'em shuffling one foot in from of the other like robots.

My daughter was telling me that she had to buy "plus fit" school trousers for my 5 year old grandson. Thank goodness he is too young to know what that means, but what about older children who can understand that. He is not the least bit overweight, but skinny fit trousers just won't go over his legs and like you say he hates being restricted. I think that the manufacturers are too busy trying to make fashionable clothes that they forget children couldn't care less and just want to be free to play.

Fashionable clothes for children do my head in & I see a lot of kids stuffed into mini grown up outfits round here. Each to their own, but my 5yo son lives in a uniform of (non skinny elastic waist) jeans/joggers + tshirt and my 2yo daughter lives mainly in leggings + tshirt. Everything soft and comfy and elasticated to allow them independence in dressing, toileting etc as well as movement. It’s different if it’s a special occasion, but I don’t see the point of preschoolers or toddlers all trussed up in skinny jeans, buttoned shirts and smart shoes to go to nursery!

I do think some of my friends think my children are ridiculously scruffy though 😆

Good Morning!

Hello to all those who dropped by 😊  I have to say I heartily agree with the 'why' fashion for kids clothing? It's not as if us adults always look so spiffing in our skin-tight jeans, 'looks like it's shrunk in the wash' 3 piece suits or my personal bugbear, grown men 'wearing' winkle-picker shoes that come in to the room 3 minutes before the wearer appears...........

Anyhoo, another Monday.  

I shall be looking out for any property listings today.  It should be a nsd.

Tea will be bean and sausage jambalaya.  I shall be trying to capitalise on LG's willingness to eat sausages and their recent eating of small portions of rice, to try to make it that we eat pretty much the same tea.  Although LG's portion will be lacking any spice - don't want to put them off before we even start!

A wash is already on, not too sure the weather is going to be too clothes-drying friendly for much of this week.  

Have run out of anything MSE/MFW to talk about, so best shuffle orf.

My pet hate with kids clothing is when they dress very young girls up in bikinis.  What is that about?  Apart from making them into sex objects very young, you then have even more of their skin to douse in factor 30+.

Good Morning!

badmemory - purchasing inappropriate wear for children is a parental decision.  I think the issue I'm battling with is rather that clothing manufacturers have changed the pattern landscape for all clothing; to a scene that actual does not accommodate the human form.  And whilst much is made of childhood obesity, in my experience, even children that are within expected size parameters for their age, are getting squeezed into formless tubes.

Only one property was added to the listings yesterday - in an area we wouldn't consider.  We did achieve a nsd though.

Today is pancake day.  LG says they want pancakes.  I'm trying to remember back to whether they ate them or not last year (think they many have eaten one......).  Did anyone hear Rev Kate on R2 on Sunday, with her vehement refusal of using lemon and sugar on pancakes?  🤣 Anything less than chocolate spread and squirty cream and I suspect she wouldn't be interested 😊  Anyway, we will be having soup and then pancakes for tea.  Soup will be either Lebanese gazpacho or Harira - depending on the weather.
