Thanks for looking it up, @Liverpool_Anne.  A slider.  I will try to remember and, if it breaks up further, will attempt to replace it.

It’s finally cooling off enough that I can sit out on the front porch without melting. Yay!  Anybody want to come join me?  I’ll even dig out the trove of historic American cookery. Chili’s on the stove, and cornbread will be made later on.

Decided to treat myself to some sensible walking boots and a really warm top for walking to/from school everyday throughout the freezing winter months. Will report on coupons once they have arrived and I check they fit and am definitely keeping them.

I adjusted a wraparound skirt to fit me earlier and sewed up the seam on my leggings that was coming undone. Still got my jeans to fix, but am waiting for some thread to arrive next week as I want to try and do a good job.

Zip questions are very topical for me just now! I volunteer at our local repair café, and yesterday we had a gentleman with a broken zip on a P0lartec fleece; one of the metal ends had fallen off. All my attempts to recreate an end, by stitching or even glueing,  failed miserably. I looked online to see if there was any advice out there, & discovered you can buy kits, even though most seem to come with very mixed reviews. So today I've ordered a kit that might help us get his fleece up & running again next month! I do hope so, he's rather elderly & lives in a just about completely unmodernised medieval cottage...

Zip questions are topical for me too! The zip on my washing bag (one that goes in the washing machine) has broken. It is the metal zip thing that you hold that snapped off. The zip technically still works, but is just a bit annoying. Unfortunately it isn’t one where you can use a piece of cord or whatever as an alternative.

I'll say yes to the cornbread please, unfortunately I am allergic to chilli and a veggie so I will pass on that thanks, but yes to the rice krispy cake and the Eve's pudding and custard

I can open and close it with my hand still, but it’s just annoying me. Don’t think there is a quick fix either and I refuse to buy another one as there is nothing else wrong with this one and it’s only a few months old.
