thriftwizard said:Polly, I used a free pattern; https://indigorchid.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/sewing-underwear-the-free-pattern/. It was super-easy in the end & only took 3 sheets of A4 to print out, and two small bits of Sellotape to stick together. (Eldest's partner's scrubs took about 24 sheets, and one of DD2's makes took 50) I did have to buy one for DD2's pyjama top, because all the free ones I could find that she liked were for knit fabrics & what we had was brushed cotton.
There's an internet service where you can send your pattern and they'll print it out on A0 paper and mail it to you. I'm sure I've mentioned it on here before, in the latter part of last year. For the life of me, I can't remember what it is called. I heard about it on a knitting podcast but, again, don't remember which one. If anyone finds the link, I'll add it to the first post.

Hi @zoeblowe and welcome!
A lot of useful info is in the first post on p.1, where @PipneyJane has typed out firstly the original 1941 list and also some "assumptions for this challenge".
So a 3-coupon corset is considered equivalent to two modern bras.... so one bra will be 1.5 coupons.
As for carrying over - yes, if you have any left by the end of December 2020, then here in Much Mending on the Borrow you are able to carry them over into the next year, in addition to the new year's coupons. You'll notice a few people have more than the annual 66 coupons at the moment, and that's why (ignore my own signature, as I haven't updated it since, er, um...!)
2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
January (29): winter boots, green trainers, canvas swimming-shoes (15); t-shirt x2 (8); 3m cotton twill (6);
.
2025 second-hand acquisitions (no coupons): None thus far
.
2025 needlework- *Reverse-couponing*:11 coupons :
January: teddybear-lined velvet jacket (11) & hat (0); velvet sleep-mask (0);7 -
Thank you so very much. I’ve been waiting for months to start this challenge and started on January 1st as my New Years resolution. So happy to join you all7

Oh! You could have joined us at any time - I'm so sorry you waited... if someone joined on Dec 1st, we'd just give them 1/12 of the annual coupons and welcome them in.
Still, you're here now, and that's the main thing! Pull up a chair nearer the stove - that weather outside really is 'orrible, cold without being invigorating. Cake? Cheese scone?2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Oooo a cheese scone now you’re talking! In preparation for the challenge I managed to have a rummage in my late grandma’s sewing case before Christmas & came out with a darning mushroom, needles and vintage darning threads! Put to good use already on some pretty shoddy sock darning but they live to fight another day at least6

I saw your post on the 2020 Challenge. Since Laura's already replied to your questions on this one, I won't respond there.CraftyLittleLisa said:PipneyJane said:thriftwizard said:Polly, I used a free pattern; https://indigorchid.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/sewing-underwear-the-free-pattern/. Oops! Happy half birthday, then, @PipneyJane!!!
I received a pack of wool for Christmas to start the CAL with Lucy at Attic24.
I would love to start the challenge this year, too. I asked for the clothes I needed for Christmas, so I'll possibly only need some new underwear. I'll ask if I get confused 😁2025 Fashion on the ration
