The curtains look lovely, @dreamyd. They fit perfectly.Himself helped with the long window as we've got shelving in front of it., and thought it was too short, but it covers the window when seen from outside and hovers above any dust, etc that accrues. They both came off excess of my friend's voile curtains, back in the days when IKEA's standard curtain length was 3m. Now I understand it's 2m.
Can I just ask a general questions about gift vouchers? I've been given a £25 giftcode for Snag tights as a present from one of my visitors ( a belated birthday present), so will my purchases come off my coupons or hers? I'm not trying to swing the system - just trying to see how it works.
Thanks - and have a good day everyoneSurviving the ups and downs of life with DH

@Baileys_Babe is right, @dreamyd. The gift voucher comes from your visitor's coupons, not yours. Sounds like a lovely present. Enjoy spending them.

Evening All
I have a spend to declare and it isn’t on yarn or a handbag! You know how I mentioned that I’d need running trainers soon? Well, on Monday morning’s run, my legs informed me that the current trainers have definitely “gone” and they’ve been complaining ever since. It wasn’t quite as bad as the first time I wore a pair of trainers to death - I woke up with cramp in the front of my left shin, an inch or two above the ankle - but it was in the same place. Later yesterday, even my hips complained! It’s not a constant pain or a cramp, just a hard to describe sensation that the muscles are definitely not happy.
Anyway, today I decided enough was enough so, after work, I drove to a local retail park, where there are branches of two different sporting goods shops. I went into both. In the first, I couldn’t find any women’s shoes. None at all. In the second, it took me 10 minutes and I wasn’t impressed, so I walked out empty handed. I like ASICS trainers because I over-pronate, but not all ASICS are made for over-pronators and there was insufficient information available to determine which was was which. (I had my gait analysed years ago.). They were also far more pricey than I was prepared to pay. I decided to go to the ASICS outlet shop at Bicester on Saturday, instead of giving money to the owner of Newcastle FC.
When I got home, I had the inspiration to see if there was an online ASICS shop that might, possibly, stock my current shoes. Turns out that ASICS have their own, online outlet shop. Five minutes browsing and not only had I found the updated version of my current running trainers but I also found a pair of my slobbing-around trainers (which will need replacing at some point this year). Total price for two pairs of shoes, £71.40 with free P&P. (£33 for the slobs and £38.40 for the runners.) That’s cheaper than one pair in the shop owned by Mr Newcastle.
10 coupons paid, which brings my total coupon spend to 35, leaving 37 for the rest of this year.

Well done, @PipneyJane - did you use a certain cashback for the Asics Outlet to get 4% cashback?
If anyone wants a referral code, let me know and then I get a bonus when you use it
We get 1% back on all our tiny eBay buying which adds up surprisingly, as well as larger percentages elsewhere and sometimes a good lump sum offer... we've used his particular site for 7 or 8 years without any problems (we had terrible problems with another one)
2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
January (29): winter boots, green trainers, canvas swimming-shoes (15); t-shirt x2 (8); 3m cotton twill (6);
.
2025 second-hand acquisitions (no coupons): None thus far
.

< sigh >
I guess this means that I am on scrubbing-the-hall duty, as punishment.

Wow that’s a great bargain for running shoes Pip - I don’t want to tell you how much I paid for mine but it was significantly more than that! Coupons/money well spent in my opinion, it’s important to have suitable shoes for running.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.8

@PipneyJane, nah, we'll just not tell Mr Lewis, the caretaker. Don't worry, I think Mrs Trellis is still happy to do the floors in return for the darning we do for her sons2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
