Welcome Allie, I hope this thread proves very useful for you. We are a really friendly bunch on here
Chanie, you made me laugh out loud with your fabbing disaster4 -
Good Morning lovely ladies. How are we all, a little deflated perhaps after the festivities. A little jaded from too much rich food 😂 a little dull and lethargic perhaps. Relax, don't beat yourself up. It's normal.I like to use "Twixmas" the period between Christmas and New Year to just rest and regroup. And this year is no exception. I am using this time to stop and reflect on 2021, my successes and my failures, the progress I've made or not made.I also use this time to start thinking about the year ahead, what do I want to achieve, what changes will I have to make in order to be successful and achieve my goals. As I am sure many of you will agree 2021 has been a challenging year for many, not least because of Covid but also some of us may be worried about wider issues, the economy, climate change, the state of the planet. Some of us may have had personal challenges, health problems, family issues, job insecurity.Im not going to go into details but I have to say that 2021 has not been my best year and I shall not be sorry to say goodbye. But, as ever, I am the eternal optimist and I'm looking forward to making a fresh start in 2022.So ladies. Are you ready to join me. Are you ready to put all the bad stuff behind us and make a fresh start. Are you ready for new beginnings. If so then it's time to go into preparation mode,
This exercise is purely for you. You don't need to post your thoughts or ideas (unless of course you want to). Whether or not you share your thoughts, ideas and future plans with your family/friends is also purely up to you. Only you can decide what's best for you. Here we go......,
1. Take time to pause and reflect. Review your life. Be objective. Take a good look, warts and all.2. Ask yourself some deep questions, are you happy. If not, why not.3. Ask yourself what is it that you really want out of life. Be honest. If you want money then don't be afraid to admit it. There's nothing wrong with wanting financial security. Do you want to be more attractive. Again, there's nothing wrong with wanting to look good. So don't be shy, say what you want, write it down.Once you have done all that then you can start to think where you go from here and you can then make a plan to start making some of your dreams come true.Dreams without a plan are just that, dreams. But make a plan, set goals and targets and those dreams can become a reality. After all, we wouldn't start out on a journey to an unknown destination without a map or setting the sat nav. So it is with our dreams, wants, desires and wishes. We need a plan, a focus,
To help me focus and keep me on track each year I conjure up a new word or phrase which then becomes my mantra and my guide. For 2021 I chose "intention". I wanted to live more intentionally and with purpose, I wanted to be more effective, to stop drifting, procrastinating and wasting time. I am pleased with the effect that living with intention has produced. Yes I had a few setbacks this year, a couple of curved balls came my way, but by being more intentional, more disciplined and more purposeful I was able to be more resilient and get back on track relatively quickly.I have my new phrase for next year, which I will reveal on our new thread when our journey continues........
In the meantime let me take this opportunity to thank you for being such good companions on my journey so far. I am already getting so excited at the thought of a brand new year ahead. 😁Enjoy the last few days of Twixmas and I hope you all have a lovely time with your new year celebrations.See you all in 2022. 🥳🥂

I am another one that lurks 😉 love this thread and have followed it since the beginning. I am going to try and join in more in 2022 as I really need to get myself in order. This year has been full of ups and downs for everyone I’m sure! My first goal is to cut out as much sugar as possible from my diet as I have Barrett’s Oesophagus and I’m sure my diet isn’t doing me any favours 🙁 looking forward to new thread LL.4

Ooh LL what fab advice .I need to start future proofing my life , n trying to put mysrlf first a bit, as I'm so drained, n have a few health issues too.
Was chatting to mum today, n feel a bit more invigorated, but as She says, pain zaps all your energy.
New year means zilch to me, as it brings back a lot of bad memories, n nowadays I have to stay in with Bon , as She's terrified of fireworks
That being said I hope you have a HNY , whatever you are up too xxx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
