Thank you FtbDreaming, you wouldnt believe how happy we are.  Goodness knows how good we will feel once all bedrooms are complete.  I keep getting calls from the estate agents so I have said call back in a few months when all will hopefully be done and come and value the house.  I have made it clear that I am not planning on selling, just want an updated value as curious how much i have added

I think once this massive heap of jobs is over you need a break of people coming in to do things and negotiating people turning up. It'll be enough adusting to everyone having their own space. I can imagine you all disappearing and closing the doors. Brilliant news on the window installation. Well done you xxx

Thank you, we put DD2 in her windowless room for a little while and you are right everyone was in their own rooms and doing their own thing, no fighting and so so quiet.
After these last bits I need to get my funds back up as this has certainly emptied the house fund pot.  I will continue to paint a little as pretty much nothing was done the whole time XH lived with me so everywhere is very tired.  I will be saving for downstairs toilet next.

I will say I have done nothing today other than the washing and waiting for people to collect their food from last nights olio delivery.  We have used the bits we kept to make a huge salad to go with BBQ style food (cooked in the oven).  We've been eating odd bits of fruit all day long too and baguettes lol.
Now watching Eurovision, eating white choc buttons - very lazy day

Well I am a little in limbo as builder is in hospital in a lot of pain (that was what wife emailed me last night), so couldn't come today to finish off the plastering, or take the building regs guy round.  No idea what is wrong so cant judge how long it will be before it gets sorted but she did say she will keep me informed.
Tomorrow is solar panel day so I need to make sure the house has a clear path and that the loft is clear too.  I have purchased a cowl for the chimney and am hoping they will be kind and pop it on for me.  I am really looking forward to seeing how well they hopefully work

You haven’t had much luck with the builder have you but you’re so close to the end now!

I know what you mean about painting. That’s what I’m doing now. I used to refresh everywhere every 1-2 years then when I decided I wanted to buy the place in 2018 I left everything so that I could do it ‘properly’ when I’ve bought the house. Roll on 2022 and it’s hard work trying to get round everywhere when the last proper refresh was in 2016 and we had major building dust last year too xxx

FtbDreaming I do seem to have spells of good and then big chunks of bad luck.  Since XH gone though, more good than bad most of the time....Well today didn't go to plan lol.  The solar people called this morning after my friend arrived to housesit, saying that they would be at mine around 1pm as I was the second house today.  I got home from lunch around 1.20 and enjoyed a little natta with friend.  She left around 2.30 and still no sign so I rang up and they had been delayed.  Will be with me at 3 ish,  quick ring round to find someone to collect DD2 from school and all sorted.  They arrived as DD2 was walking up driveway around 3.30.  Looked at the scaffolding and said sorry we cant do it today as ladder not long enough.  The scaffolding people had put the entrance to the roof bit in line with non moving raised bed full of strawberries!  They will deliver a longer ladder tomorrow morning and come round about 1pm when I arrive home from work.  I did ask them if they could fit the chimney cowl and they said of course as they had messed me around all day - had felt guilty for asking but after being messed around, not so much.  To be honest they thought they would need to come round again tomorrow to finish things off so hopefully it will just be 1 days work.
Out for a meal tomorrow night with the work ladies as one of them is leaving - will be fun although nothing much to wear as wardrobe full of clothes is blocked with DD2's furniture

Well I am eagerly waiting for the solar people to arrive and start working.  They said around 1pm arrival, so only 50 min late so far!  I am still doubtful they will arrive and complete everything today.  I need to get DD2 from school today as she has her first covid jab straight after, so if not here soon I will call again.  I wonder if they work saturdays?

Have they turned up? Trades are so unreliable it’s ridiculous.

I’m the same as you with spells of bad luck… we just have to take it in our stride!

Hope your daughter is ok after the vaccine. Xxx
