@slm6002 sounds groovy! Hope you're all having a wonderful Easter love Humdinger xx1

Thank you Hundinger and a happy easter to you too. Got lots of yummy choc to keep us going.
We have not stopped. Uncle was doing his painting / sanding etc all day everyday and I was doing what I could. He is a perfectionist which in one sense is great but the other it means simple things take 5 times as long. DD1 has today got her completed wardrobe and has moved her clothes in, even though there is still a little painting to do and the carpet is not in yet. She is happy.
The builder has also replied and said that the factory that the windows come from has burnt down and so the window is unavailable, but will be getting an update soon. He also has covid so cant come this week anyway.
I am hoping that once DD1 is in her actual room DD2 can camp in her room until the window eventually gets put in, like DD1 has been doing. I can then get decorating DS and my room ready for our new furniture and carpets. It is moving in the right direction but I know there is a lot to do still.
On another note the car started making noises today on our way to visit Nana. We have dentist tomorrow so hoping it was just a one off and it will be fine. If not i may need to raid the car pot. I have done nothing this evening other than sit on the sofa and its been lovely. Back to it tomorrowMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Whoops got my days and dates wrong. The dentist is tomorrow not today, so am trying to swap the skating over too as I cant justify the petrol for both journeys separately. Will wait and see what the skating place says when they open. It also means opticians might need to be moved too. Not sure how I got it totally wrong. It does leave us with a clear day though to get on with some jobs which is great, and to go food shopping as fridge is looking quite bare of essentials.
Have a great day everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

It's very easy to get dates and days muddled up when there is a bank holiday! I struggle to remember what day of the week it is half the time and bank holidays just make it worse! It's one of the reasons we always have a roast on Sunday so at least I know what day that is!

I think it is my diary, all previous ones on the monthly bit start at Monday through to Sunday, but this one starts with Sunday to Saturday and I keep getting things confused. Oh well the skating is sorted and I just need to adjust the eye appointmentsMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I have finished painting (for now anyway). DD1's room is ready and waiting for the carpet to be put down sometime on Monday. Her clothes are already in the wardrobe and I imagine as soon as the carpet man leaves the remaining items will be moved in swiftly.
I went out for lunch yesterday with the ladies from work which was wonderful and I really didn't want to go back to DIY, but I eventually did and glad its done. Feel like its been going on forever. I still have the other 3 bedrooms to do, but today I am not painting. I am hoping to get to the garden centre and look for my plants to fill the tubs that I have ready cleared. It isn't looking as sunny here today but hoping the clouds will clear soon.
I need to contact the builder to see how he plans to sort the new window as I'm not waiting until the factory has been rebuilt before I get the window! I also need to read through DS homework before he submits it too. All 3 children are enjoying a lie in this morning so will go and wake them shortly.

Its been a lovely relaxing day doing not too much. A very quick clean of just bits that had been left out (no hoovering etc). We then went to the nursery and got some tomatoes, lettuce and peas. We already have strawberries and raspberries (although they don't look like they are doing much so far). Hopefully I will get some green beans going soon too. This will give us a little fresh fruit and veg soon.
I am hoping for a fairly lazy weekend to recuperate ready for work on Monday. Hoping it will be spend free too as need to keep saving for all of the little extras that are likely to pop up while decorating. I think it's a short half term plus at least 1 bank holiday too so will whizz byMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Why is it having workmen in always seems like a saga? I am so sorry to you this is all dragging on so long. Am I right in thinking it's just carpet and a window to go? So one girl will have a totally finished room and one will have everything but the window? I can't imagine leaving you with a big hole in the side of your house for 3 weeks. Thats crazy! I am pretty sure you can order windows off ebay. Being honest though there isn't much that I won't try and buy off of ebay. I am not brave enough to go for second hand often but there are some great deals.I am jealous of you getting solar panels. I hope it makes a massive difference to your energy bills. I can't see how it wouldn't.WIth painting I find I can be bothered to do one coat in the evening but I hate doing the cutting in I will only do the rollering or the corners.Very happy to hear your family are rallying round to help and that you've had lovely things planned. And don't listen to stupid xh. He can't be happy if he can't get you off his mind. You are so much better off. Hopefully he will shut up soon though so the kids can have a nice time too xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Hi Kitten, Yes you are right that tomorrow evening after the carpet has been laid DD1 will be moving into her finished room (still needs a few shelve but that can be done at some point). DD2 however only has a box of a room. It is only missing the window, but as yet there is no hole for said window. It hasn't been painted or had the cupboard built in as we figured the cutting of the hole for the window will create so much dust that it would not be worth it. Still no email from the builder but will chase him up again this week. as could really do with a rough time frame.
I am looking forward to getting the solar panels and like you say hopefully it will reduce my bills a little, but with that and the girls rooms being done, it will eat up all of my savings really apart from my emergency fund and specific pots for Christmas etc. It feels a little scary that I wont have anything really to fall back on. I do know that I have enough income for the budget, but need to learn again to stick to that budget so that I can save for the next home improvement (downstairs toilet). I also need to add up and look at the budget for the bedrooms. A tin of paint here, a pretty throw or cushion there, all add up very quickly.
Well it is back to work tomorrow and kids have all packed their bags, at least 2 out of 3 have had their shower and they have all found their school shoes ready for getting out of the house on time again. Fingers crossed this planning helps in the morning lol.
Ok I am off to load the dishwasher and then shower myself before going up to bed for an early nightMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I have a very happy DD1, who is settled into her new room. Her led lights are up and everything is in place. Still waiting for some help to put desk and bedside shelf up but for now she is so very happy. DD2 is jealous but still happy as her bed has been put together and she is in her windowless room, rather than in my bed. She has a door she can shut and a room to be without the other 2 getting at her for being in the way or singing. DS also now looking forward to his room looking as good.
I have my bed to myself and a room that is slightly clearer from extra boxes and furniture. We are getting there. Still no email from the builder but will chase him again tomorrow if no news. I'm sure he will come along soon now I've moved DD2 into the room.
Work went well and I should be back up to speed by tomorrow - always seems to take a day or two to get back into things. The new big boss was here today so everyone high up was in their best clothes and smiling. Maybe it will stay that way lol.
Just need to re-read DS's homework before bed as forgot to do it earlier. I am really tired after moving rooms around and then club, so will enjoy my bed tonight
