Much cooler here now, and ticking things off the list. Something I was able to do today was apply for joining elect company so that I can sell extra energy back to the grid. Because my own elect company doesn't pay much per kw I have gone to another. It is still only 4.1p I think per kw but the best out there unless I move completely, which would make little sense as I am on a good price until Nov 2023.
Right I am off to get lunch as starving because of my early startMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just eaten our home grown strawberries - so sweet and much better than the shop bought. Only half of my list done, but always tomorrow. Had hoped for an early night but now sat with DS watching a film as he has come out of his room. Oh well maybe rest tomorrow lolMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Good evening, another sunny day powering all of our energy. Electrician came round to check out emersion tank to see if suitable to connect to solar device to heat water. It is so he has gone to price things up for me. Hopefully he will be back soon to fit it. It will then save me using gas to heat water.
DD1 has officially finished school and today taken her last GCSE. Will need to keep fingers crossed now until results day - think this will be more stressful than the actual exams. She celebrated by going to the local pizza place with her friends. It seems like another milestone has been met.
The car is sounding very creaky. The garage unfortunately cant look at it until 4th July. It tends to be better in the cooler and wetter conditions. I am hoping it wont cost too much and just needs some liquid / oil of some kind to make it better. I did take it to them last year but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. We were getting some very strange looks the other day because it was so loud.
Easy dinner tonight and only need to do a little cleaning before early night. Almost another week done - less than a month to go before summer holidays. Anyone live near Mablethorpe? We are off there for our holidays so if anyone has any recommendations for teens around that area please share. The place we are staying has no wifi so asked in tescos today if it is possible to add extra data onto their phones - it is and hopefully will allow them some time when in the chalet to connect with friends.
Need to get cat baskets out of the loft as they are off to vets tomorrow as their rash / scabbiness is back. It happens every year and we are pretty sure that it is the sticky grass stuff that is around now as it only gets like this when they come in covered in the little balls. Anyway that will be another £80 ish but have been saving all year for this as know it will happen.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just finished the olio collection for this evening. 10 boxes of food - and the majority of it been divided up between lots of people. I will put the rest outside the door tomorrow and let the people coming have a rummage and take what they want. Most is being collected tomorrow so kitchen looks like a supermarket and fridge overflowing. There were 77 packets of raspberries (almost 2 whole boxes). My friend is taking what is left to pass out to her friends and make some into jam. I need to start saving jam jars again and have asked my dad if he still has the big pot my nan used to make her marmalade in, just in case we get this many again. We kept some of the raspberries, strawberries, melon, bananas, pain au chocolates, baguettes, pears, cucumber, carrots, and I expect a few bags of potatoes as lots of those left over. All the food was in great condition today so will last a few more days at least. I seem to have my regulars now which is nice although wish a few more of them would collect on the fri night.
Right off to bed as its been a long day and need to be up early for people collectingMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well we have made it to the end of the month. Payday today so bank nicely topped up. Tomorrow I will transfer to the right pots and get ready for another month. Did overspend this month on things like food - too many treats and takeaways as I was tired. Need to plan more so not to get to 5pm with no idea and then cave and nip somewhere to get food.
DD1 has a taster session at college today, and as I was typing she sent me a text saying she had just dissected a heart (she is hoping to do human biology next year) and 'dude has her snapchat' so guessing she has found new friend. Next Mon and Tue DD2 has her induction days at high school so it is all go here.
Not looking like the extra hours at work are going to happen at the moment, but i have an extra year to sort before they start hassling me.
Had a bulk waste collection booked for yesterday, but because they didn't read the note they couldn't find the waste (bulky items so not sure why it was difficult). After a telephone call or 2 it was rearranged for today - lovely chap and very helpful. Got back from work today and the whole lot had been taken including the bits that needed to go but I couldn't fit in the 'up to 5 items'. Really happy as driveway is clear again - yay. I could get a bill for the rest but hoping not.
I'm still no further with my room as the thought of painting does not excite me at the moment. Need it done though so house can be put back together properly, plus I sure new wardrobe would be better in my room than the damp garage. Uncle is visiting in a months time and I would love all bedrooms to be done by then. Might start this weekendMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Wow I am exhausted, so much has been going on in the past few days and I am looking forward to the weekend. Tonight is prom so I am waiting up for DD1 to return home. DD2 received her SATS results today and did extremely well. She has also had 2 transition days and enjoyed those. DS has also been busy with his sports day and end of year exams which he seems to have done well in.
Less than 2 weeks to go before the holidays. I only have a few bits booked into the diary but sure we will be kept busy.
Had to pay out for new tyre and suspension arm for the car, and when putting the tyre on they reckon the back tyres are needing doing before winter. I have also paid to have solar linked to the water system. Not sure if it is working correctly as yet because the sun has disappeared since it was fitted. Hopefully in the next few days when the heatwave arrives we can see it working.
I think my bedroom will now have to wait until the holidays but we will see. DD1 is going on her holiday next week with NCS so it might be a good time to move furniture into her room while she is gone - shh don't tell her lol
Ok I'm off to make a list of things that still need doing this week and nextMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay I have made it to the weekend. Still busy but have a little breathing space over the next few days. Got my olio collection tonight so that will be a busy few hours. Please all keep your fingers crossed for a small amount. I cant keep going if there is so much every friday. I need to cancel next weeks as DD1 is away and there is no chance I can do it on my own.
Hoping to have a bbq tomorrow as nosey neighbours are off on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks - yay. Looks like a nice weekend so will get the washing all done and dusted tomorrow too. DD2 has a party until 10pm tomorrow so still wont get an early night as yet. Soon hopefullyMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well only 8 boxes of food last night which is a small collection for a Friday. Looks like it is about to rain outside, but thought we were heading for heatwave today. Have planned on BBQ tonight so hopefully it will brighten up soon. Next door planned on leaving in the early hours of this morning but their bedroom window is still open so I might need to close that. The people across from us also look like they are getting caravan ready so may be off too. I guess people without children are getting their holidays in before the schools break up.
The electrician came over yesterday as the solar device to heat water wasn't working. He reattached it in a different position but we are still not getting hot water. Will wait for the sun today and see what happens. He is coming back on Tue or Wed anyway so will let him know. We can at least still use the gas to get the hot water so no need for cold showers yet lol.
Ok so today I will be handing over food boxes for olio, washing and cleaning, get case out of loft for DD1 holiday, and need to parcel up clothes that need to be posted back to get refund. Might try to sort through a box or 2 in my room ready for the next painting session.
Have a great day everyoneMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I got nothing done on the list today. DD2 and I cleared out our food stash cupboard and are hoping to relocate the cans of food to make it easier to get them, plus freeing up space under the stairs. This is where the downstairs toilet will need to go, so the stash has to find a new home at some point. We then got distracted and have been walking around them for the rest of the day. DD2 had per party and is now home and in her room so will wake her in the morning and get them moved to the new place. Tomorrow we need to go shopping for DD1's supplies for trip away.
BBQ was very nice and neighbour kind of invited himself round, which was nice. He lives alone and just wanted a chat we think. Fed him while he was here and he was grateful. Ok I am off to bedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

It's so muggy here and even the small amount of rain we have just had, hasn't really made much of a difference. A week today and work will be done, and even though I had fairly little to do today, I am sure it will be crazy busy before the end of the term.
I had the fence man come over today to take measurements for a fence and gate at the end of the drive, and a side gate. This will stop any unwanted visitors coming around the back of the house, and into our house uninvited, and will mean DD1 will feel comfortable (hopefully) to go outside without me. I think it will be quite a costly quote, but I wont know until it arrives in a few days time. It will be another item off my list though.
The house needs a good clean and clear up, but worn out and just want to sit when home. Need to do little bits here and there until it is done.
Right off for a cool shower and hopefully an early nightMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
