Thank you both. Yes XH is a moron or at least that is one word for it. My kids know they can get messy, as long as they then strip at the back door all is fine lol. Perhaps if he said we are going on a walk tomorrow and it might be muddy that would give them the opportunity to dress appropriately and take wellies. But pretty sure he doesn't know what to do with them one hour to the next. Only consistent thing is maccy d's at 12. He doesn't know his children basically. Kids however know him very well! I do think its amusing though how now he has left me he worries what I might say. Didn't care when we were together lol.
AGM was very relaxed and only a few parents turned up. It was a quick few words from me as nothing has really happened this year. All done for another year which is great.
Been looking at dishwashers but think I need to go to a shop and look. So many things to consider. Might be a job for the weekend.
Think i've found something suitable for my mums xmas pressie. Needed something suitable to pop in the post. Will keep quiet for now and share if any good. She is one of the difficult ones so would be great to get that one sorted, plus being abroad it needs to go fairly early as post seems to take forever to get there.
The job is going well kitten thank you. Very busy and different to what I was used to but still having a good time.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Feeling a little glum this evening as neighbours have been round and do not like the porch / extension as they think it will block out their light. We have done everything possible to help their fears from happening but it looks like they will still try to make it difficult for me. The architect said even if they complain it will probably still go through, but then i will have them moaning about it when being, and once built. Just makes me want to move house and get what we want instead of going through the hassle of trying to turn this house into a version as close to it as possible. The council a while back asked people to apply to buy solar panels cheap (as they would buy in bulk). I signed up and now have a quote. It's still expensive, but with the fuel going the way its going and I still think it's something I would like to do. But if not happy here what's the point. Nothing at all suitable within our price range currently if we did want to move. Still nothing from the builder so guessing no start date in the half term. But then if selling is it a good idea to even do it. So confused againMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Don’t answer the door to your neighbour and don’t let their thoughts and feelings affect how you want to live. Do you honestly think they’d change their plans if the shoe was on the other foot?If the architect says itll still go through despite their objections then that’s all you need to know. Don’t be stressing your head trying to look elsewhere. It’s Christmas soon. You’re in a nice little routine with the kids and finances so don’t complicate things.Any news on the partition bedroom? When is that starting? Or have I missed it and it’s done? Honestly chin up you’re doing great as you are. You’re on your way up and the neighbours probably don’t like it cus their house will need doing up cus it’ll look rubbish next to your fancy new porch xxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thank you FtbDreaming, I know you're right they just dulled my mood by complaining again. They are really good neighbours and put up with a lot of noise from us and say they never hear us. He does all of my gardening for me and although a little too touchy feely sometimes they are great so don't want to upset things if I can possibly help it. I think it was the comment of it looking like a shed stuck on the front of the house that hurt the most. Trust me if the toilet could have gone elsewhere it would have. Oh and the plans say i will be removing MY Hedge. I will only be removing the bit that goes alongside the porch as it will almost be on the boundary line. Because he keeps it trimmed he seems to have ownership of it in his mind.
Still not heard about the bedroom being split. DD1 says I need to email him, but to be honest as we are being squeezed in between the 2 main big jobs, me emailing him wont make him finish the first job any quicker. It's more likely he will get fed up and say sorry we are too busy and then not come at all. It would be nice if I could just know a rough date / month.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay I'm done for half term. Money is quite tight until payday (29th) but other than the odd loaf of bread and pint of milk we should have everything we need (just remembered we got free school meal vouchers again this half term, so I can use those instead). Hoping maybe the builder will email today - we can hope. I'm very aware that with looming restrictions possibly on the cards as infections go up, building trades may not be able to carry on as normal - who knows but if I could just get it done I wouldn't need to worry.
I would like to add some shelves to my pantry style cupboard so that I can place all of the bits currently under my stairs into the actual pantry. It would involve moving a freezer to the garage (but I always intended on doing this). It will make things much more accessible for everyone. Once the food has been put in the right place it leaves under stairs cupboard ready for all the board games and art supplies and bits that are in several different places all over the house (after a big sort through so not to keep rubbish or games no longer suitable). A lot of them are actually in the girls room and there will not be a place come the split so time to sort it out.
It feels really cold in the house today so I may treat us to an hour of heating. Will cook dinner first and see it that helps us to heat upMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I don't know if it's no heating required or just that we are too scared to turn it on! Admittedly my tarriff hasn't finished just yet but I am scared to use it. I have bought blankets. These thick fleece/sherpa ones. Very snuggly. I have to lie in bed in my clothes to let it warm up before I go to bed properly!Have you looked at putting the wall up yourself? Then just paying a plasterer? Obviously depends how good you are with 2x4s and a screwdriver but it's not the most complicated task. Unless you want electrics in it. I am terrible for watching a youtube video and becoming convinced I can do it. xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I'm afraid my DIY skill are not up to that. There are walls to go up and the builder is going to put electrics in those walls as its easier and requires less time that in the wall walls if that makes sense. One of the doors is a pocket door so that needs to be built in too. There is also a new window to be put in which again the builder is sorting. I'm afraid my skills will be flat pack furniture and painting lol.
I've always been tight when it came to heating but XH used to like to wear tshirts and then turn the heating on because he was cold. I sit in line with the door through to the hallway and although its pushed too the cats keep coming through and it swings open. As I am 1 lazy and 2 snuggled up under my blanket, i keep a broom next to my chair so that i can close it again without getting up lol. Without it being closed there is a big draft. Prices are a concern though. My bed is lovely and cosy. Under my bed sheet i have a duvet with makes it warmer. Then above me are 2 duvets and a blanket. I also have a really unsexy nighty that goes to my ankles. Keeps me warm and who cares what it looks likeMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
