Well i dont have half as much as i thought i did.  I have taken picture of stocking bits so i can refer back to them.  Only 1 out of 3 is complete.  No idea on main gifts and apart from mum and partner i have nothing for anyone else.  I will get dad slippers but no idea on his partner, token tin of shortbread for friends apart from 2 very close friends who i need to think more about.  Then its sister and partner and uncle and XH's nana.  Really thought i was further on than I am.
I imagine the children will be home soon with stories of how today went.

Well its almost 2 years to the day that XH told me he was leaving me and destroyed me.  Don't get me wrong I don't ever want him back and I have come so far with out him, but feeling glum today.  It's definitely there in the back of my mind.  He is now becoming more public about him and the woman he left me for (he did tell DD1 it would be 2 years before anything happened so guess its almost time) and posting happy family pictures that my mum seems to still want to share with me.  I know its wrong but where is karma.  He destroyed me so why is he allowed to be so happy as if nothing has happened, yet I am here having gone though such a horrid time, picking up the pieces with our children when he lets them down and brags over his new family to them.  I am / will be ok just need time I guess.  Sorry to be so negative

Break ups are always tough, especially when kids are involved, but your kids will know how hard you worked for them and that you are the one that will always be there for them.
He will get his karma eventually, maybe she will kick him out! Just hold your head up high, you're doing great 🙂

Good afternoon and sorry for my glum post.  Thank you for your kind words  It was 2 years ago today that he broke me.  I have come a long way since then - a lot of my recovery I believe was made easier as we were in lockdown so I didn't need to speak to people and explain it over and over again, but it may be some of the reason that I haven't quite dealt with other things yet.  Yes it still hurts and I hate him and the other woman, but I have moved on a little providing I don't seem them.  If I do my body/blood starts to boil up, which is why I try to not see him.  I really do wish they would just vanish from this planet.

My children and our new life are my main focus and we are in a great place.  I need to stay focussed on us.  On this note I was contacted yesterday about the girls bedrooms.  The builder can come before xmas (although still no actual date) to split the room and do the electrics and radiators, but said that the extra window, that will be added for DD2, will not be done until after xmas.  It means that I will be able to get DD1's room done and I will know the actual dimensions of each room ready for carpets and furniture, and at least it will have been started.  It's a little move forward even if DD2 would still need to be in my bed for a little longer (as her room will have no window it's not very safe in case of fire).  We will however be able to put the furniture back in there until it gets finished.

Also just had a look at the planning permission for the porch, and even though that is not the plan, the town council have stated that they have no objections for it to be built.  This is despite my neighbours not wanting it to go ahead.  I believe it still needs to go to the county council for them to have the final say, but think if town has said ok its mainly just procedure / for the paperwork.

Not heard anything re solar panels since I signed the agreement, but they said there might not be for a while.  Its all coming together slowly hopefully

Well it has been a busy weekend clearing and preparing.  We have sorted DD2's storage under the bed, thrown quite a bit out or packed into boxes if she didn't think she would need it anytime soon.  DD1 is still working on hers.  We also removed the built in wardrobe and have cleared everything out of that too.  It will make the clearing for building works much easier I hope when we get the date.  The room looks quite a bit bigger just without the wardrobe so I'm really hoping once divided it will be ok.
Another busy day at work tomorrow plus I have my booster jab, car is off to the garage to get bits done and I have a christmas tree to decorate at the local museum and the usual childrens clubs and school run.  Off for a shower and bed :)

I have come down with the sniffles but dosing myself up with orange juice in the hope I can get it gone very soon.  I am due to have my covid booster tomorrow so hoping it wont stop that.
We had some good news this evening too.  Our planning permission for the porch has been agreed by everyone.  We have almost certainly decided not to do it but happy it was passed.  Instead we will build under the stairs instead.  I also found out today that work are rewarding all staff for their great work through covid and beyond.  Even though I have only been there for a little while I still qualify.  We are getting £150 in vouchers which is totally unexpected but really fantastic.  Ok Im off to bed and hoping to wake up cold free and healthy again

Well I am ready for bed.  I still have a cold but still managed to get my booster today.  That's me topped up ready for winter.  Feeling quite positive though, not for any particular reason.  It's a nice feeling :)
