I hope the man is serious about buying your house when he's home 🤞🏻and lots of houses should be coming on soon as people start listing around spring...so if he's wanting a quick sale could you rent somewhere short term in the interim? It might make your purchase quicker too without a chain when you find somewhere.
Snow didn't amount to much here either but it is super cold ❄️ 🥶Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000

Sorry to hear about the house. Hopefully you can find the perfect alternative with the new ones coming on the market or you never know, that one might fall through and you'll get another chance at it xI've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!

Thank you all, I think it is the fact that last time we had it on the market pre divorce it was on for 18 months with no interest, and this time the only interest since April (so another 9 months) has been from this 1 man, so if he does make an offer I don't want to turn him down as after 27 months trying, we will have made big progress. Obviously this is only ifs and buts currently. I am just desperate to move from here, even though location (close to town /railway etc) and actual house are ok, its just the people, the street and I really don't want to be here for another summer or Christmas. I still feel like I am being watched by all of XH's friends along the street, which while is probably ridiculous it is how I feel. Hopefully the right one will be there, just at the right time.
Mum's partner passed away last night so I may need to take a trip abroad at some point. As we didn't use our holiday fund this summer, there is some money in the pot to help. Her brother arrived yesterday so is with her this week and then my sister is flying out on Sunday I think. I need to speak to work and see what I am entitled to.
Did a small shop in case the weather is not great over the next few days. It hasn't stopped raining since we got home. Cant quite believe it is almost the end of the first week back already, but so much has happened that time has flown by.

So sorry for your loss. Would your mum consider moving back now? My mum is also in Spain with her partner and I really hope they come home if one of them needs support/care. It's so hard being so far away.

Afternoon slm, also glad first week is done. I am shattered and regretting my decision to move away from term time with new job, but also in equal measure glad to soon see the back of this job. Confuddled I think is the technical term
I am so sorry to hear about your Mums OH. I hope she's okay. Were you all close to him as well? Hugs xEmergency Fund goal - £1000/2000

I would like to work more hours but stick with the term time only at the moment, I think I need my holidays to recover and catch up on all the jobs at home. I am sure that you will be great though in your new role and that your DP and DD will support you.
Unfortunately no one other than mum and his sister were close to him. We were polite to him even if he said silly and rude things to us, but for mums sake we just ignored a lot of what was said and didn't bring up certain subjects. She is currently sounding quite up beat to be honest although I expect when things have settled it will hit her but for now she is being kept busy.

We have a viewing on Saturday so we are full go on cleaning and tidying. It is not the guy that we have been waiting for, although he should be home soon. So please can we all keep fingers well and truly crossed and hope that something perfect comes onto the market for us at the same time.Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 15, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/194
