    Thank you DFW.

I have just put the heating on as house was far too cold for it to be healthy (for us or the building), but it will only be on for an hour to take the edge off it.  We are home all day (apart from heading to the garage shortly to drop off car) so thought it was worth it.

This week I need to do:

    Memberships for club renewals
    Council tax paperwork
    Breakdown cover
    Sort DD2's birthday bits
    Start sorting Christmas things

Decided if I put it on here I should hopefully remember everything lol.

Right time to clear out car ready for the garage :)

I have just finished the telephone call with the benefits man.  Hopefully I answered all of the questions ok.  He seemed to think all was ok but had a few bits to check up on before saying anything.  I hate it as it is like being followed by the police when driving, even if you have done nothing wrong you always feel guilty.  I need to send in paperwork to confirm DS is still in education now that he has just turned 18, but hopefully that is it.

Council tax paperwork also completed and will be popped in the letter box tonight. Not much else done and I still need to clear the kitchen so the boiler man can get to things tomorrow morning.  I may treat us to another burst of heating this evening and I need to put the throw back on top of my duvet now it has got cooler again.

DD2 has band later on so I might sit and complete the membership paperwork as much as I can while I wait to pick her up again.

Was hoping for an early night as eyes are tired, but guess that isn't going to happen.  Boiler man arriving at 10am tomorrow so can lie in a little if I get kitchen sorted tonight.

Yesterday the boiler passed it service - yay.  Paid last night from the house pot.

Also had club yesterday and got almost all of the forms that I need in to register all of the players.  1 outstanding so will need to add them on at a later date - they dragged their heals last time.  I need to do some banking today so funds are ready in the bank account for fees.  I can and will shortly start completing the online bits that I need to do for it so that all that needs to be done is make the payment before Fridays deadline.

Today we have a bank appointment where will also close down DS's CTF account, and to transfer the money out of this account to another account of his.  This money will then go into his LISA.  He never really knew much about it and hasn't missed it, so we think he may as well earn some more interest on it for his house.  Not huge amounts of money, but it was free to him when born so anything is a bonus.

I think we will be making a family trip to town as DD1 has time on hands to spare and gets cabin fever, and DD2 would like to buy a few things.  Hoping it doesn't become an expensive trip.

DD1 met up with her best friend yesterday who has gone off to uni.  Best friend made comments about how DD1 was stuck in such an awful town with no life prospects which really got to DD1 even though she is happy here.  I wouldn't say our town is full of night life or designer shops etc, but there are things to do and it is relatively safe, she is happy here, she has boy friend and other friends, a uni course of her own which she is enjoying. She is saving for her own house so that when she has finished uni she can move out. DD1 then told me about best friends new life away and I said I know whose life I would prefer.  Best friend's rose tinted glasses will soon fall and she may well have lost a good friend in the process.  Just a shame DD1 then questioned herself and her choices.  Nothing wrong in being content with our lives as they are.

Right I had better get some paperwork ready for later.

All bank accounts now transferred over to DS now he is classed as an adult.  Club banking also done.  Felt like we did every bank in the town.  Dinner is in the oven so time to put things away and settle down in front of the tv for a little while.

Feel like we have done quite a bit of admin and tidying type things this holiday.  DD2 is having a friend over this afternoon for a bit of crocheting and chatting.

From the list I can cross a few bits off:

    Memberships for club renewals
    Council tax paperwork
    Breakdown cover
    Sort DD2's birthday bits
Start sorting Christmas things  although only 2 things but it is a start.

Done more than the above but these were the must do list,  I had been putting off the club renewal memberships as I was not 100% sure how to do, so it is a big relief now that has been done.

House reasonably tidy ready for visitors.  My friend also mentioned that she may come round to keep me company.  DD1 has left me in charge of her sour dough bread.  I am under strict instructions not to let it burn (it didn't).  It feels quite heavy though so we will see.

Payday today and at the new rate so know what I should get monthly, at least until we hear about our performance payrise that is due anytime now.

Did a food shop first thing this morning as after cleaning the fridge out of things that were past their use by date (even for us) it was looking very bare.  Cupboards, fridge, freezer and fruit bowl all full up ready for the week ahead.

Happy November - although looking outside it really doesn't feel like it.  1 more birthday and then we are full steam ahead to Christmas.  I actually bought a turkey for the freezer yesterday in the food shop.  With the bird flu starting up again around here I thought it was better to be prepared just in case they were in short supply and therefore prices hiked up again.

No visitors last night thankfully.  We closed our door curtain and turned outside lights off.  The families around here generally know the rules of Halloween which is great.  I bought my children some sweets as they feel they miss out now they are too old for going around the houses.  Instead we watched a little tv and had a nice dinner.

Nothing planned for today so have had a slow start to the day.  Now showered but dressed in comfy clothes rather than going out in public clothes.  DD2 needs some encouragement to revise.  When left to her own devices she opts for the areas that she knows rather than ones she is unsure of.  Today will be a day of unsure topics as she has a big maths test this coming week and fighting for her spot in the class.

Nice relaxing day hopefully, to prepare and gather energy for the next half term at school.

Yay I am all done for the week.  It has been mad at work with important visitors and sickness going round the staff, but we survived the first week back.  Also caught up on a few bits which is great and started planning an event that I have been asked or run for next term.

This weekend we have DD2's birthday.  We have a remembrance day concert and are coming home to celebrate her birthday with grandad and anyone else that turns up.  She has been exhausted this week and realising the extra pressure that year 10 brings with it.  She has been asleep on the sofa since half 7.

No planned spending this weekend - we will watch the local fireworks from the bedroom tomorrow I think.  I will need to get a chicken for DD2's birthday dinner (Roast chicken) but other than that no spending required.

My laptop died and a new one has been purchased from some savings.  All discounts and cashback available was used to help lower the cost as much as possible.

Friends visited this afternoon and we also got some work done.  Fireworks were watched from the patio outside as it was still a quite warm outside.  Presents wrapped ready for tomorrow.  We have watched some tv and will be heading to bed shortly ready for the busy week.

Back from work and I am sitting here in almost darkness.  I am going to have to put the light on in a minute it is so dark and miserable outside.  Work was crazy today with no one where they should be and staff all over the place trying to engage children that were not keen on learning today.  I didn't get most of what I wanted to do done, but tomorrow is another day.

Tonight DD2 has rehearsals and then band with a quick gap in the middle for dinner, so will pop some pasta bake on ready.  Feel like hibernating on days like this.

Woke up this morning with a crick in my neck which I hope will ease and disappear over night.  I kept waking up last night for no real reason and didn't really feel very rested this morning.  Nothing has changed to my bed so will just try to have an early night to recover.

I didn't sleep well either last night, woke up exhausted today. I hope we both have a better night tonight!
