Virgin media new account and keep landline number?

Hello all,
Have seen the MSE offer for virgin media which expires tomorrow....
we have an account under my wife's name which expires imminently...would my wife be able to cancel this account and I sign up for the MSE deal whilst keeping the same landline number?  Virgin indicate that it is not possible to do this but wanted to check if possible....

thanks...so, the only way would be to transfer to another provider and then transfer back...?

If you want to keep the number it'll be far quicker to phone up Virgin, get through to retentions and say you've seen a better deal elsewhere that gives me this, that and the other but I'd rather stay with you, what can you do for me?

The MSE deal is much better..but, might not be worth it given the hassle to attain it and keep the number.

Why don't you ask them if they will match it?  The worse that can happen is they'll say no.  You probably won't get the credit but if you ask nicely enough they may get as close to it as they can.

You could port the phone number to a VOIP provider so the number was not tied in with the broadband
