Free Apple TV with new iPhone, how can I watch it on TV?

How can I watch my free Apple TV on my LG tv without having to pay for equipment? I have a smart TV but it’s about 4 years old and my Amazon on fire stick is about the same age so I can’t get the app on them. I’d like to see of Apple TV is any good, but I don’t want to be spending money to use this “free” trial.

Do you have a laptop to try it on? (with an HDMI connection to your tv if you want to see it on a big screen)
