Neighbours built Avery overhanging my garden

The neighbours have built an avert over this weekend and the roof is overhanging my garden by about a foot. Apart from it being annoying and ugly it has proven today that the rain off our sheds drips onto this new structure and all flows into my garden. I am going to speak to them tomorrow about getting it sorted or at least cut it back and get guttering but if they don’t do it would I be able to go to the council? It’s quite large about 3m x3m

So I’m not in the wrong for telling them to take it down? I can’t be bothered with conflict but at the same time they wouldn’t let me do that if it was the other way around. It could also pose a hazard when the kids are playing out in summer.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

This is absolutely wrong. My neighbour had an extension and the guttering overhung my fence. I asked them about this and they were shocked that the builder had done this and it was resolved. Your neighbour may not be aware of the intrusion so definitely talk to them.3

Avery?Avert?Aviary, perhaps? I can't tell from the pictures.Whatever it is, no they don't have a right to intrude into your airspace. I doubt the council are relevant though.14

Haha I’m not a bird person so have ever really had to spell aviary! So you don’t think the council will help? The house at the bottom of the garden has a massive structure approx 8m x 5m and it’s never been a problem but it’s the overhang and rainwater that is a problem with this one.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Wow I wouldn't be happy with that. Probably they haven't realised though. I would approach politely and ask them to cut it back or something.0

How on earth could you not realise.......definitely taking the p155Solenoid said:Wow I wouldn't be happy with that. Probably they haven't realised though. I would approach politely and ask them to cut it back or something.4 -
Ask them nicely, pointing out the law and if that doesn't work put an incinerator underneath... or chainsaw and then incinerate..

Normally I'm a "Oh dear, that escalated unneccessarily, what were both parties thinking". For that, wow, that's not a bit of slightly overhanging guttering. Bear in mind with the correct planning, you should be allowed to build there, but can't now...
ps. +1 for confirming where the boundary is.
