I have a Three Data Reward SIM and a My3 account. Could anyone tell me where on My3 I can check how much of the 200mb data allowance I have left please.

    My My3 homepage has a data allowance link, that shows free and top up balances.

    Try  https://www.three.co.uk/New_My3/Data_allowance?id=My3_DataAllowanceHeading

    Thanks basill. I'm looking at that page now and its says nothing about my Data Reward data allowance.
    This is all it says;

    Data allowance.

    Your data allowance.

    Below you'll see your remaining data allowance and what you've got left to use.

    You've still got the following allowance left to use:

    Credit (1)
      CreditValid untilRemaining
      Voucher top-upWon't expire£1.54
      Total Credit£1.54
      This information was correct at 21:46 on 21st December 2020

      Is it possible that my Data Reward allowance has somehow lapsed and why would this happen?

      In the Terms & Conditions, it says;
      If you are on our new Data Reward plans, you can register with us to get 200MB free data each month. By registering your details, you acknowledge acceptance of the following terms and conditions (“Terms”):

      but it does not define register. I took it to mean open a My3 account online and link my phone number to it. Is that correct?
    • Have you registered at http://www.three.co.uk/freedata for the 200mb bundle itself? It should say in your SIM pack somewhere to do this.

      Ah! No, I didn't see that.
      I saw this page;
      http://www.three.co.uk/datareward?manufacturer=&ID=1666&ty=aff&aff_id=1460&link_id=lc&link_ref=lightuser.g2gaj5.6rrk3o.qamedu&aidset=1
      It doesn't say how to register. I assumed register meant online somewhere (using my PC). Was that unreasonable? I thought register meant by 'registering' for a My3 account. This was back in July 2020.
    • It's not unreasonable, no, the website is fluffy at best on how to add the 200mb to Data Reward sims.

      I set one of these up for a friend not long after the tariff first came out and I did exactly what you did - saw the 'register', assumed it was 'for My3 online' and did just that. When the 200mb was a no show spent a surprisingly long amount of time (for a long time Three customer who's used to how they work) trying to work out why, until my brain had a flash and remembered that normal Three PAYG SIM packs have a (easily missed) card with "to fully set up your SIM you need to do THIS" details in them, looked for it in the data reward SIM pack, and boom - there it was.

      Thanks tinker.
      Been on chat with Three for 51mins. Couldn't get a response initially on Contact Us - Chat, so had a look in Complaints and found Chat in there that worked not realising it was specific to complaints.
      Anyway, they said I should order a new Data Reward SIM and get my number changed over to the new SIM. They've also given me 1gb Data as a Goodwill gesture (can see it on My3 now).

      Thing is, he's said some contradictory things and some wrong things;
      06:23 PMSunil Data reward sim is only for data.
      06:23 PMSunil As such is terms as freedom data reward sim card.
      06:24 PMSunil So number doesn't matter as it is data reward sim card you wish to use to get 200 MB free data.
      Wrong, as we know you can use it for calls.

      06:32 PMSunil
      You may request pac for old number and move number to other network and then get pac of
      old number and place number transfer request online.
      06:35 PM-Me
      You want me to to move my current number to a different network just so I can then
      transfer it back to Three! That's too complicated.
      06:38 PMSunil
      It's not complicated at all, it is Three to three number transfer hence you'd need to
      obtain pac and move number.
      Contradictory - first says move current number to a new network and then move it back, then says it can all be done within Three

      06:42 PM-Me
      After I insert the new Data Reward SIM in my phone, how long do I have to register? Is it 30 days?
      06:42 PMSunil
      You may register it any time.
      If this is correct, then why can't I just register my current Data Reward SIM. Just tried it again (WiFi off, Data Usage On) and it says "Sorry, your current SIM isn't eligible". If you look at the Terms & Conditions for Data Reward on their website, there's no mention of needing to register within xx days of activating the SIM, so I don't know what to think now.
    • No worries. Just to answer a few points from your chat with them:

      Yes, you can use it for calls - it's not strictly intended to be, as it's a mobile broadband sim, but... Yeah. Funny thing is, and I believe it's still the case as of now, you can top up mobile broadband sims from £2 online (phone sims minimum topup is £5 online).

      Yes and no (this is where being with them for a while helps) - he's telling you about two different things there; you could either port the number out and back in (this is where a PAC would be used), or you can migrate the number over instead (this is where the number goes directly from Three sim to Three sim, no PAC needed).

      Ah, so that's why you contacted support? Try this link instead of the freedata one - http://devicereg.three.hostedservice.net - the earlier link should direct to this automatically, but it doesn't always. That should sort things out.

      Thanks tinker.
      Yes, that's why I contacted them. Just tried that link with the same result and yes the first link does direct me to that address. I'm using Chrome to do this - no reason why that should be a problem is there? If there's no time limit for registering (I can't see any anyway) in the T&C's, any idea why it's saying SIM not eligible.
      Thanks re: migrating. That's very reassuring.

      Same result? Hmm. Using Chrome shouldn't be a problem, as I recall when I set up a sim I used Chrome, but it won't hurt trying another browser although it probably won't make any difference now.

      Thinking aloud - going by one of your earlier posts, you've got a credit balance. Have you topped it up? I vaguely remember reading something somewhere that said you need to activate the free bundle before adding credit, and there being some horribly technobabble reason why. In any case that could be why the sim is saying not eligible now, but I am guessing.

      Either way, with that being the case, looks like you'll have to wait for the new data reward sim to arrive, then in this order; activate the free bundle on it (try the second link first), register the sim (this makes the next part easier), then contact support and ask them to migrate (that's the key word) your current number over to the new sim. Confirm with them that the free 200mb will remain and your existing credit will transfer over (this shouldn't be a problem) then the migration will take place - they'll walk you through what will happen.
