Tattoo refunds (seems to be a very hard topic to find advice about)

Paying to get work done by an artist, have paid for 2 'vouchers' with her totalling £120 + a £20 deposit left over from previous work she has done for me,
her rate is £80 an hour, of course as all tattoo artist's work 100% legit they only ask for cash or to be paid via 'PayPal friends & family' so I've paid her via PayPal, Turned up for a booked session and there was no one there, messaged to ask what was going on, 'personal reasons' was her reason she was sorry she couldn't message to tell me and has offered discount rate for the next session, but now have to wait 3/4 months as she can't seem to fit me in for a 1 hour session anywhere? after this I didn't complain and just said hope she was okay, whatever the issue if it's your own business, your customers should come first and that's just something that is part of being self-employed but I should've received a message to say she couldn't make it, rather than me drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back,
as it seems so complicated and seem to have no right's what so ever when it comes to tattoo's and deposits, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I'm entitled to or when am I entitled to say that its an inconvenience even trying to book in work with the artist for this to then happen, am I now entitled to ask for a refund seeing as she wasn't even there for the booked in session? I feel as though she will just turn around and say no, even if I say its an inconvenience and is her fault, there seems no way of me getting my money back
obviously getting tired of having to deal with the artist, but don't want to lose my money?
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!

I like the way you were happy to hand over money to her and have her do previous work for you but now it's gone wrong you make the snide implication that all tattoo artists are on the fiddle and that you have no rights.sebslee123 said:Paying to get work done by an artist, have paid for 2 'vouchers' with her totalling £120 + a £20 deposit left over from previous work she has done for me,

Sounds like a facebook saga to me. If you want your money back, send her a letter before action and take her to court.3 -
Well yes that would make sense to be be complaining now obviously? and well you can't tell me everything is done legit then,0

This isn't facebook.sebslee123 said:Well yes that would make sense to be be complaining now obviously? and well you can't tell me everything is done legit then,
I have no idea if your artist is "legit" or not. My point was that you were happy before, but now seem to think they're dodgy. If you believe all artists are on the fiddle, don't get any more tattoos.
You have three choices. Accept the delay, continue to dispute it or escalate it to court action if needs be.2 -
What makes you think you have no rights with tattoos? It's a service, just like any other and your consumer rights apply, just as they do to any other service. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1

What proof do you have of payment?2

thanks for your reply, Im just unsure what I'm entitled to ask for after the situation explained, her more or less cancelling the session now without giving me any notice and driving there for no one to be there seems just bit unfair hence why im unsure and asking for advice, unholyangel said:What makes you think you have no rights with tattoos? I mean I know some places being the customer you'd have to give them minimum time notice before cancelling0 -

A refund. She's in breach of the period of performance of the contract.sebslee123 said:

Because the period of performance was whenever your appointment was. She failed to adhere to that period. Therefore she is in breach of contract. Technically you'd be entitled to be put into the position you would have been in, had the contract been completed correctly and if that isn't possible then the position you would have been in had you not entered the contract.sebslee123 said:
