not 1 legit tattooist would ask for payment through paypal

of course as all tattoo artist's work 100% legit they only ask for cash or to be paid via 'PayPal friends & family'You know all tatoo artists? Of course not, but irrespective of that, those two methods of payment are hallmarks of someone trying to duck income tax and VAT as well as transaction fees due to PayPal. They're working the system for themselves, do you think they are going to deal properly with complaints?3

And their customers. A cowboy trader needs cowboy customers. People like the OP are perfectly happy to work on a cash-in-hand basis to save themselves money but when it goes wrong, they bemoan the practice and the lack of protection it offers.Speedster2 said:of course as all tattoo artist's work 100% legit they only ask for cash or to be paid via 'PayPal friends & family'You know all tatoo artists? Which went to a business as 'Friends and Family'. When you try to make your PayPal claim against not receiving your future sessions from the tattooist which you bought with vouchers, your chosen method of payment will work against you.sebslee123 said:

Do you want the tattoo finished?sebslee123 said:Paying to get work done by an artist, have paid for 2 'vouchers' with her totalling £120 + a £20 deposit left over from previous work she has done for me,
her rate is £80 an hour, of course as all tattoo artist's work 100% legit they only ask for cash or to be paid via 'PayPal friends & family' so I've paid her via PayPal, Turned up for a booked session and there was no one there, messaged to ask what was going on, 'personal reasons' was her reason she was sorry she couldn't message to tell me and has offered discount rate for the next session, but now have to wait 3/4 months as she can't seem to fit me in for a 1 hour session anywhere? after this I didn't complain and just said hope she was okay, whatever the issue if it's your own business, your customers should come first and that's just something that is part of being self-employed but I should've received a message to say she couldn't make it, rather than me drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back,
as it seems so complicated and seem to have no right's what so ever when it comes to tattoo's and deposits, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I'm entitled to or when am I entitled to say that its an inconvenience even trying to book in work with the artist for this to then happen, am I now entitled to ask for a refund seeing as she wasn't even there for the booked in session? I feel as though she will just turn around and say no, even if I say its an inconvenience and is her fault, there seems no way of me getting my money back
obviously getting tired of having to deal with the artist, but don't want to lose my money?
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!
Or what do you want?Life in the slow lane1
