It hasn't been discussed as far as I know Dancemum, I was just chuffed I'd done it and cleared the pile before Christmas and after eight months of procrastinating,(((Hugs))) Fayolle.Better is good enough.10

Oh Fayolle what a horrible thing to hear; lots of hugs and prayers.
HoneyBear lovely to see you.
I skulked in my study most of the morning to keep out of the way of the engineer who spent most of the time on the kitchen floor; I got a load of a report written up but he after over 3hrs has admitted defeat. Seems the new electrical part, although needed, has not done the trick so it looks almost inevitable that we will be without central heating over Christmas. Various photos WhatsApped to old engineer in case he has any suggestions. This is going to be a huge financial mess if they can't fix it - do we pay? Do we have the range taken out and revert to plan B of new 'normal' boiler and new normal cooker? Plan C (or is it Z?) could be to keep the range as it is i.e. just for cooking, and have a new normal boiler fitted. That way we wouldn't have wasted the money on the range- but how much do we pay for all the time/effort/parts of what has been done when actually they haven't achieved what was agreed? Oh well it is still very mild here, although due to get colder. Electric blanket ordered from Amaz00.
Then the dishwasher broke. Not essential, a nice to have, but.......managed to find a reasonable one in Curr$ which can be delivered on Cmas eve.
The rain stopped for long enough when we had our carol singalong on the village playing field accompanied by local brass band, it was lovely to actually sing in the company of quite a few other people.
Cmas phone call from friends.
Long calls from DB who, at the insistence of his wife, has agreed to visit mum for a while on Cmas day as both her neighbours and another friend who had originally invited her to dinner have changed their mind.
While I was report writing, Mr N did a load of hoovering and tidying in the lounge and hall.
Electric and gas meters read and put on web site.
I need to do a bit more of a report now then read the Mr T magazine as I usually get lots of inspiration from recipes; sadly it seems to be only online this year which isn't so easy to read.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Morning all
Paid stuff for me today, but first DH and I are heading out to Mr T, list is done, I have vouchers ready to use, hoping it’s not too busy at this hour of the day and we can just get done and get back.
See you later x8 -

I am counting my blessings and feeling very calm this morning. The 2 girls are together in the other house already, we are joining them tomorrow, they've bought food (not sure what we'll be eating) and we have some presents. Not at all the Christmas we planned but when I look around the world and read on here etc I am just feeling so so lucky.
Today is all about laundry, I need to finish DD1s so I can take it with us tomorrow, I need to get my own up to date so I have clean stuff especially heavy stuff like jeans. The other house has a WM but no TD and is in a region famous for being wet!
Last little gift and card to be dropped off to friends at lunchtime
Enveloppe to be prepared for lady who comes to look after the cats
I need to go through admin tray and check nothing else needs doing before the New Year
So far, Bed made, windows open
WM on
TD on
Breakfast and then ironing.
Hugs to all of you, keep SMILING

Here's my share of a (((((((group hug))))))) for you Fayolle xx
I was awake at 5.15 this morning and in our greengrocer's by 6.30: I spent £££ there ( but we do eat an awful lot of F&V). Then I went just up the road to MrAl and spent ££ more than I had planned there - but I should think we now have enough meat and fish for up to the end of January. Storage will be a problem for the next 24 hours, until I get the turkey out of the freezer to defrost, but I can put some of the veg in the back porch where it is Brrrrrr!!! for at least that long. I also filled the car with petrol and bought small gifts for our NDN and our lovely postie.
DH has a clinic appointment later this morning, so once I have put away the shopping, I shall just hoover the LR (again!!!) and then curl up on the sofa for an hour or so before I go out with Rosie for her walk and deliver the last few cards.
Take care xx7 -
Me again
Mr T shop done ££££ decluttered! Fridge and cupboards now full and hoping not to have to go again for a couple of weeks, I didn’t go overboard but I also needed to refresh on quite a few ‘household’ items and that always bumps up the bill.
At paid stuff now, well making a cuppa anyway, hip is throbbing after all the walking, time for some painkillers and maybe a mince pie methinks, work is quiet so I will use these two days wisely and clear some bitty jobs that I never get chance to get around to.
More hugs for all those in need, I’m another one counting my blessings and remembering to smile today. I’m so sorry for all that others are going through and sending out as much love and positive vibes as I can.
Flying news... dailies done, bed made and wm set to swish.
back later xx9
