When you arrive, you can put a piece of paper in the windscreen saying that you are moving into the property (i.e. Unloading) and perhaps rope in some family members to help. Dad or Mum, or even Gran could sit in the van and warn off any Parking Tickets.Of course, you could use the likes of Pickfords etc, but thats mega expensive. It sounds like you are going from a flat to a flat? Do you need to move everything? Can you not sell the larger items (Sofa's, Wardrobes etc, and buy them whilst down south?)It sounds more like "normal van" size you'd need rather than "removal" anything - unless it's massive sofa and grand piano etc.For parking restrictions I'd expect there's a way of booking an exemption from the council (which also means you actually get a space). Ah yes, here you go:0

Good luck, I'm sorry you haven't got a friend to help you. I drove my flatmate from Chiswick to Southampton, that was a day neither of us will ever forget, I wasn't the best on motorways!£216 saved 24 October 20140

Anyvan are OK
They let you know the exact arrival time and have an app/website where you can track them.
If you do use them:
- make sure your inventory is exact, any slight differences and they driver will want cash in hand for extras
- they weren't the most careful handling things - nothing really broken but they bashed corners and scraped walls getting the stuff into the house.
try: About | Yellow Van Company (theyellowvancompany.com)
They are London based but go other places and are excellent - very careful and friendly service0
