as per the above ... you can add"POPLA are an independent body who rule on such matters"they are wrong again POPLA are not independent , they are funded by the PPC scammers ...Ralph

Just contact them asking them why they state they are "unable" to do something, when clearly they have the capabiltiy, they are just choosing not to exercise it.
The alternative - that they are actually unable to cancel the charge - is unthinkable, because it means they have signed contracts with a service provider yet have no actual control over that provider, despite being liable for their agents actions.3 -
We have seen this all before, Mcdonalds are a very arrogant and ignorant company
Their letters are actually saying "go away we don't want your business"
And that's ok, you can pass this on to family and friends and get them to pass it on and on
National Press is a good idea
What does Michael Kelly, Senior Customer Services Manager know about POPLA ? NOTHING and his letter is a fob off (Always possible of course that MET pays him commission)
Mc'Ds is company who the Daiiy Mail discovered there was mould in their breafast muffin

For you and your family's health stay well clear from this bunch
I would write to the CEO in the USA saying his UK operation is dishonourable. When you write to the CEO Jason Clarke, he ignores you and that is not the way to attract customers.
From letters you have received from customer services, one cannot help but think that a commission is paid to customer services, that must be true otherwise why would they hold customers in such contempt

Thing is, McDonalds have cancelled these loads of times, including local Managers doing it. Tell them you know this. Give them a link to this thread and tell them the case is being discussed on Martin Lewis' MSE forum where they know McD's can cancel these with one email, yet are choosing not to. Why? Tell them that you will take it to the national press.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Today is the 28 days from the day after the notice was given, which according to the Notice is the last for for submitting appeal. Should I appeal? Do I have any grounds for appeal?
Currently I plan- to email McDonalds US CEO to ask him to overturns it
- Reply to the unhelpful customer service manager and say, "I can point to many instances where the McDonalds emailed MetParking, why will you not do this for me, I'm going to have to contact national press as I think more people need to know about this
- Email the Sun, the Mirror and the Mail to see if any are interested in taking up the story
Any thoughts on those courses of action? Anything else I should do?
Also someone suggested I just ignore it since MetParking are "not litigious". Any precedent there?0 -
Should I appeal?Do it right away, NOW. Just use the blue text initial appeal template from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post. Don't worry about what to put, all you need for the moment is in the template. Also someone suggested I just ignore it since MetParking are "not litigious". Any precedent there? Not at this stage, later in the process. You engage with them (and POPLA in due course) - ignore beyond that if you've not been successful. What sort of 'precedent' are you looking for? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The good news is that Mcdonalds have announced that the eat in facility will be closed so the only way is via a drive-thru
MET of course are open to appeal this decision as they will lose money now ..... so funny4 -
Latest reply from McDonalds:Thank you for getting back in touch further following the parking ticket you received during a visit to one of our restaurants. I can confirm that as Senior Customer Services Manager for McDonald's in the UK & Ireland, your email was passed directly to myself from Jason to respond to.Draft reply:
I regret that when a parking contravention has occurred, we are unable to deal with any specifics or cases on an individual basis. As mentioned, if a customer contravenes the clearly displayed parking regulations, they will receive a ticket.
I have once again reviewed all the information produced, but whilst I do appreciate your further comments, our position on this matter has not changed. I can therefore only refer you back to our previous email.
If you have not already appealed to the parking company, this would be an advisable step to take first. As a further action after this point, POPLA are an independent body who rule on such matters. They can be contacted via www.popla.co.uk
Thank you for contacting us again and I am sorry that we can be of no further assistance on this matter. To Whom It May Concern,Any thoughts?
Please can you explain why you have CHOSEN not to contact MET Parking on my behalf to request cancellation of this Notice? We both know that it is simply untrue to say that "we are unable to deal with any specifics or cases on an individual basis". This case is being discussed on Martin Lewis' MSE forum where it well established that McDonalds can and have cancelled these PCNs with just one email. You DO have the capability to email MET Parking to request cancellation, so why are you CHOOSING not to exercise it?
I find it extremely shocking that McDonalds are happy for paying customers to be charged £100 for eating at their restaurant. If this is not resolved I feel compelled to contact national press about this, as I feel it is my duty as a citizen to ensure that more people become aware that McDonalds are treating paying customers with such contempt.
Please see below the link to the forum where is case is being discussed: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6225369/mcdonalds-met-pcn-manager-refused-to-take-any-action2 -
Do you have a name to write to rather than "To whom it may concern"? I would add that if they continue with their "position on this matter" then neither you, your family nor your friends will be able to use ANY McDonalds ever again. Further, since this is continuing to court (only say that if true) could they provide dates when they will not be able to be called as a witness.5

Terrible customer service, they can cancel easily.
McDonalds, the providers of junk food which they must eat themselves to provide such a junk letter. Go to the press in the area of this place so people can be warned that McDonalds hate their customers ......... that's what they are saying.
