Why not email Steve Clark and ask whether he is aware of it and what on earth happened, and can he confirm ALL PCNs (even those paid) have been cancelled?wannadancewithsomebody said:

That sign is more worthy of a contract to commission a nuclear power station, how many words? Unfair T&C in consumer contracts?2 -
but , if joe publ.ic gets an invoice , he may well just pay it and not get POPLa involved or indeed the bpaCoupon-mad said:

at what stage or point , and from whos info would s clark know of ANY cases at this site , the only way he would know is if a complaint was made to him
amd apart from that hes haveing a long break at present2 -
beamerguy - they police parking in marked bays and disabled spaces. You can see their 'blue badges only in disabled' notice on the pic of their sign, I mean you can't 'see' it because it is so small, I'm guessing that's what it says because I became involved with it. Their disabled bay may well not mention blue badges, meaning a holder doesn't show it for safety, or a genuine disabled person but with no blue badge may park in a bay - all can generate invoices of course.
My observation - UKPC like time limits which are not quite enough for all people, and they also like varied limits in adjacent car parks, for example my local park has 3 hours (possibly not enough for a really complex transaction at B&Q), but MacDonalsd on the site has just 1.5 hours(not enough for a kids party perhaps?). All generating overruns and mistakes for the shopper.

He'll know, if UKPC have told him.
He knew about the Smart Parking issue (the postal debacle) and the ParkingEye issue (the location where they were issuing PCNs to people parking in a separate area) when I emailed him to ask the same questions about both of those. I gave him a link to each newspaper article and asked: ''How did this happen and are all the PCNs cancelled, even those people have paid?''
You can be the person to tell him and ask if all PCNs have been cancelled and how did this happen? He is away till New Year though, someone here mentioned who emailed him this week.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If people spend more than four hours there, presumably they are spending money there. I assume that, along with shops, there are pubs, skin eating fish, table tennis, restaurants, cinema, bowling alleys, ec., etc., etc., why kill a goose which lays golden eggs.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
OK, I will do that.Coupon-mad said:

it seems its not the bpa who have audited there signage at this site (do they ever?) it was down to people complaning to the site owner , who knew nothing about the signs ,,,,,,,,,,,,, untill they were told by weekly press
i dout if S Clark even knows about those changes , and probable wont unless he reads thids thread or the northern weekly rag
S Clark has one job , he works for the BPA who are set up to PROTECT there members , ther only time he speaks out to help public , is 30 seconds before it goes public , S Clark is a fantastic PR rep1 -
OK, I don't know the car park in the NE as I am in the South.deighton2002 said:beamerguy - they police parking in marked bays and disabled spaces. UKPC run 3 car parks in my area. Now they have ANPR which is not policing
Prior, they had a "white van" warden serving the 3 car parks and it was a local joke. He drove in, parked his van, sat on the bonnet, rolled a "fag", probably a joint, and set forth to target disabled spaces
Sorry, but we cannot refer to these muppets as Police, even though when you stick a uniform on them, they might think they are ..... wannabee police4 -
The BPA's Steve Clark just emailed me about this even though I hadn't contacted him about it:I saw the MSE posting on the UKPC signage issue at the Metrocentre and did some digging.
As you will have guessed it was an error by UKPC/their signage people and I have received the following response from them;
The incorrect signs at Metrocentre were installed over 30th Nov to 3rd Dec. The overlays were ordered on the 2nd. The overlays to remove the 4 hour time limit were installed over 6th and 7th December.
The wardens were not working when we started installing. They went back to work on Wednesday 2nd and were aware of the issue and did not issue any tickets for the max stay. That contravention was not switched on in our system so it was impossible for them to issue for that anyway.
I don’t see a breach of our Code here and do not plan to take any further action - if it comes to light that any max stay PCNs were issued at this location during the given time period, I would of course look at the case again.
Stay safe
Kind Regards
