That's exactly what we've been debated in the family today, we can't find the right washing machine on that size. Not the quality we'd like anyway. I've got nothing against certain brands but my wife is keen on a premium one, the one we bought is Miele.

These appear to be now called Shallow washing machines.

Here's a Currys link for those which are 50 - 54.9cm deep1 -
Thank you very much indeed for all the replies, my wife really wanted a Miele so she decided to keep this one. It's not necessary the space needed for the machine to fit in properly, this Miele is quite bulky and the pipe routing down the back is not the best one TBH. Both water and draining hoses are on the same side and the drum is also quite massive in the back as well, there is no space at all to route the hoses ?! This washing machine doesn't really give any space for routing them at all, very frustrating. What can you do when the boss really wants something ?! Accept it and move on with your life so that's what I've done. From from my point of view a Bosch, Smeg, Siemens, etc..any other 54cm washing machine would've done the same job (washing the clothes) but try to explain that to someone who's in love with Miele ?! We paid over £4-500 more than the others WM to have this hassle as well !!!0

Say it was unpacked but not used at all.Be prepared for a long drawn out saga with Currys though and good luck.0

I would be looking at altering the waste pipe.
Easy enough to do.

That's actually a good idea, if you live in certain places in UK like london or houses are pretty old the kitchens can be insanely small so I like that idea may have to do it when the family not looking though.
My neighbours kitchens opposite me they said its so small they have to woddle from the side to side to get through their kitchen and they are not joking its so narrow the kitchens designed for a child only.
