    Evening my beautiful diary friends
Sorry I never checked in yesterday.
Went to tesco got ds1 some new school shoes and some clothes for myself off the reduced rail. (I've been living in leggings and t shirts since I gained weight and not felt good about myself. Gonna be honest I've felt much better yesterday afternoon and today in my new dresses and jacket 😍

On the not so good side. Ds2 fell off the swing at the park 😳 trip to a n e (an hour drive away) last night after a call to 111, he's okay just got a headache and no memory of it happening or anything that happened yesterday. They checked him over in a and e and sent us home 🏡 we were in and out in an hour and a half.
Kept him off school today so we could keep a close eye on him but he seems well

Oh and I filled the car up with fuel with was £52.. new car costs about 13p a mile I'm not sure if that's good or not to be honest.

Anyway hope you all have a good evening

Love hugs positivity and prayers to you all

  • Morning my beautiful diary friends.
Remember how I said we would do a no spend year at the start of the year. Well despite our best intentions and even though we have hit our savings goal, we haven't stuck to it as best we could.

So today is the day i am fully committing to no spend for the rest of the year.
    The only exceptions are
essentials (food, clothes that are NEEDED, school uniform etc.. but food shop will be done with a meal plan and list
Birthdays and Christmas (but we will have a budget)
    House repairs
    Education
    Car expenses
    Fuel for the car
And experiences / days out / weekends away or holidays ... but I will find the best possible price and again there will be a budget each time.
Debt payments, overpayments or mortgage overpayments will also be included.

I've also stopped selling stuff we no longer use or need , so will start that again
And surveys or anything  else that will create income.

I will include days where money is spent on anything above as no spend days.

I hope to get a good chunk of the debt paid off to start next year in a good position that hopefully will mean in 18 months time we will have all our debt paid off. But for now I will keep our goal debt free date as the same.

I will update each day with progress, any money saving or money making things we did that day etc and anything we did that did cost anything that may give others ideas 💡

I will use my community resources that are available as much as possible.

I'll also be posting on our Instagram again

I'm hoping that I can get life back on track 👣 and In a better place mentally and physically hopefully I might even loose some weight 🙏

I'll update later with how we get on today 🤪

Have a fab day everyone and a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend

Love hugs positivity and prayers to you all x ❤

I've worked out we have 218 days until new years day. And our no spend was reset yesterday so that's 219 days.

    Day 002/219

No spend day again today for our second day which means we have 2/2 no spend days so far.

I'm just doing our budget for the rest of the year and trying to work out how much we can pay off our debt by the end of the year.
I'll be back shortly with the amount

    ETA

    Target amounts to debt
    month amount
    June 493.24
    July 1,025.79
    August 25.79
    September 1,025.79
    October 925.79
    November 1,108.89
    December 1,875.79
    total to debt       6481.08
I'm hoping I can make some extra money somewhere and I can pay off £7000

Hello, mumof3. Seems as if you have got your motivation back. The schedule above looks ambitious, especially December with three little ones. I'll be cheering you along. Trying to cut spending here too, had to replace the cooker last month! Sending love, mumtoomany.

hi @mumtoomany lovely to hear from you.
i have two pays in December as I'm paid every 4 weeks. this is what is left after deducting some for Christmas.

I've just worked out my interest on debt and mortgage in money... because lets face it we never really understand the % rate apart from when they give us the total amount of interest at the start of the agreements. but its never told to us as a monthly amount.
so here it is... makes me want to cry

    loan 1£24.17per month
    loan 2£56.67per month
    mortgage£214.50per month

loan 1 is the loan that was originally £12,000
loan 2 is the £5,000 loan
and the mortgage is based on our current balance.

as explained above loan 2 is the one that will be paid off first.
    then loan 1
then our housing association debt as this is 0% and then the mortgage will hopefully still be cleared early. i think our original goal was before we turned 40! that's just 11 years and 2 months away  :#

im determined to do this, and not give the bank a penny more interest than i need too...

once the lease car goes back in July/august and i know how much the bill for the damage is, depending on how much it leaves in savings i will pay a chunk of the debt off then.. (I'm hoping ill still have a £6k emergency fund left). anymore than the £6k will go to debt. that gives me £4k for the damages bill. but we will see. i can keep hopeful.

as we currently have £10,000 in savings. everything is now being thrown at the debt. I've made this months extra payments already. which totalled £963.55p i genuinely didn't realise it was so much as i hadn't added it up until now. what a great accomplishment so far !

nothing more to report today as i said a no spend day, and the last day of term for the kids!

Ah, two pay days in December, that explains it. Good luck with trying to pay of £7000, that's less than £2.50 per day extra. Looking at it that way makes it seem much smaller and more achievable. I too have a mountain of stuff to get rid of, trouble is finding time to list it. The grandchildren broke up yesterday, so even less will get done over the next week! Eating well and sleeping well are the way forward, mumtoomany.

  • Hello my beautiful diary friends ❤

@mumtoomany when you look at it like that it doesn't seem alot. But it's actually all we can afford during a no spend not Counting for any extras that might crop up. 🤔 it's basically an example of where your money goes if you buy a take out coffee everyday.

I'm off tomorrow, so I'm going to get some jobs done I've been putting off or not had time to do the last few weeks.

Also no spends other than what's allowed so we are on track :)
