Emm-in-a-pickle said:Hello, can I come back please? I`ve not posted since June, and I`ve got loads to report, and loads more to do and hopefully be encouraged by you lovely de-clutterers, but I thought I`d better catch up first, so I`ve taken a few days to read all the posts I`ve missed....and feel encouraged already.Things move sop fast on this thread, and I`ve noticed a few names missing, and new de-clutterers coming in, but thankfully the wonderful Mrs SD and many stalwarts are still here, some have had sad news to share and troubles to cope with, as well as sharing even minor bits of progress - I want to send belated hugs to ALL, and I realise how much I`ve have missed reading and posting.

ExH is going great guns with decorating DS' room. He brought over a lovely chest of drawers from his storage and I got a table for my kitchen/diner - in some ways its not as nice as the one I had but it happens to be the right size for the room (my old one was much too large) - so my room looks so much more spacious. Not sure what I will do with my old table and chairs as there's nowhere to store it in my house- I used to sell things regularly on eBay but I haven't done it for years - not sure now is the best time to start - so maybe I'll donate to a CS. Took 3 bags of stuff to a CS today and another to textile recycling. So a productive day.

@EnergyShifter you are most welcome... I've put selling on hold and trying to donate as sometimes its just too much, or just doing survival task
Query hoping someone can help, trying to find my dad some new trousers, but M and S is all trendy straight trousers, his current ones are suit style so loose but some are too big - he is 98 so looking for comfort but not trackies! Suit trousers at M and S £64 just want the loose style not the expensive wool.
Will pop back and read posts and hugs as always10 -

Bala, many thanks, I had thought of it, but he's been busy looking through M&S and while my mum would have bought things from charity shops, and I spent years helping her run and also get things from charity jumble sales (never see these now) I didn't like to suggest it. I will look at the ones near him - I've got some of his things to take in so will just say I saw them and thought they might do. He did ask what geometric hipster underpants were (men's department) and if they would be appropriate for him - found some perhaps more appropriate9

@Floss, he was also looking at cargo trousers which were a new idea for him but decided he has enough pockets. Wears a gilet style top with pockets, but now on using a zimmer with wheels rather than speedy trolley so no shelf for taking things around. Can see where I get my collecting from -although his is super organised! 98 and brought up with very little.

Hi All, hugs to those that need them though I am glad to see everyone seems to be getting better
@mothernerd, glad to see you back but even more glad to hear DS and gf came for a visit and managed to get some things done for you, hopefully it will make things a bit easier and safer for you, also glad you managed to have a face to face with your nurse, they are like hens teeth here still due to backlogs, illness at the GPs and holidays which I don't begrudge them for a second considering what they have had to deal with. Hopefully they can help you.
I have had a reasonably productive day today, B12 jab has started to work so I have a bit of energy. Proper cleaned the bathroom rather than the quick wipe round it has been getting, recycled 3 empty bottles, why do people just put them back when they know they are empty? Grrrr. Binned shower slip mat, just couldn't get it properly clean, but I have another to use, also binned a back scrub brush, a bit grotty and I have a new one. Still got the floor to mop but I broke the mop bucket so off to the chandlers tomorrow for a new one. 2 loads of washing done and line dried, folded but not yet ironed. Bag of rubbish from my bedroom binned. I have found that this is the room I am most relaxed in, why? Because it is the room where I started my decluttering and so is still tidy and only takes a few minutes a day to keep it that way. I am learning
Also sorted the gubbins in my car boot and now have a small cardboard box with screenwash, oil etc in and the rest of the boot is empty, though I will be putting some shopping bags in when I have them folded neatly rather than thrown in willy nilly. Old boot tidy in the bin, it was too big and just filled itself up with all kinds of rubbish
Also threw away a broken plastic bucket from the gargen I had stored bits of broken pot in to be used when potting things on etc, now stored in a small plastic plant pot not currently needed.
On Monday I did a big shop in c0$tc0 and have found homes for most of the shopping, it does save money but can cause storage issues. Yesterday I made a big batch of guacamole with the avocado pears which were very cheap. It was very scrummy with the baked enchiladas I made with lo roasted veg and a small piece of lo feta cheese found lurking in the back of the fridge. Some of the guacamole will be put into the freezer when I have finished playing freezer tetris tomorrow and can fit it in
Apart from that I have been watching the Paralympics which I enjoy probably more than the Olympics and I love the Olympics
Off to bed now, take care everyone.10 -
