You can change the V5C online , do so ASAP o the DVLA can issue a real fine of up to £1000

    Ignore the debt collectors

Hi, so just been going through dates and checking papers.
I moved house officially on the 1st August.
Ticket was issued 23rd July, so I suppose it is possible that I received the 1st notice before I moved out which could have got lost in the move. This would stack up because the papers I was handed yesterday start from '1st reminder' and not the initial charge.

I don't have the time or funds to undergo a court case for this, ...bearing that in mind am I out of options?

I am not sure that you have a choice, have you complained to your MP?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I should note that I did not admit fault to the DC, only that I am the registered keeper of this vehicle. But advice noted.
OK. Notifications all made to DVLA.
Will this email suffice for the PPC?

    Good evening,
I am emailing you as the registered keeper of the vehicle registration XXXX XXX.
Please erase the address (old address) from your records.
Please send all further correspondence to (new address).
Please respond to confirm that you have noted this change of address. Any correspondence sent to the old address will not be received.
    Kind regards"

Should I even be providing my new address?
Once email sent and DVLA all up to date, where do I go from here?
  • @Redx
    Thanks,
Have done so although via post as exact my address is not registered on their database.
    Is this a problem?

Yes you provide your current address , because you do not want a court claim going to your old address !!!

Attach copies of 2 recent redacted utility bills as proof of I D under the GDPR law , for the new address , or a copy of the updated V5C when it arrives , or both

Prepare for a court claim pack from the CCBC in Northampton within 6 years

Utilities are included here. Will 2 x separate redacted council tax bills be sufficient

anything like that , but preferably 2 different ones if you can , or 1 redacted council tax bill and 1 copy of the V5C when it arrives, or similar , such as a phone bill , sky bill , tax code letter etc

not your driving licence or passport

Business communication should be Dear Sir/Yours faithfully. This is a company about to drag you through the courts, suing you!

'Kind regards' is little different to 'Love and kisses'.

Get this on a proper business footing.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    "Good evening" "Kind regards"??

Who are you writing to? One of your mates?

This is a formal business letter. It should start "Dear Sirs" and end with "Yours faithfully".
