  • Gosh the last 24 hours have been insane - from all this being completely alien to me, panicking and last minute cramming to submitting my appeal just in the nick of time. My head is now buzzing with "IPC / ICO Code of Practice", "POFA 2012", "Beavis", "ANPR", "Hurley" and "GetYourRegRight". :D I just wanted to say a massive big thank you to everyone. Without your support and help, I could not have done this at all. Thanks once again.

If you haven't already sent it changes suggested: -
The attached evidence proves the correct amount of time was purchased for my previous vehicle however the location and times tally up. SIP has not offered any evidence of xxx (old reg) entering or exiting xxx Car Park on the accused alleged date.
It is therefore disingenuous of SIP not to even offer a settlement of £0-20 whilst being fully aware that this is the will of the Parliament and IPC.
Are we sure it is the will of the IPC?

Hello, I hope you all had a good Xmas under the circumstances and wishing everyone a better 2021 (despite the new national lockdown).
So just an update: I rec'd a response from my local Cllr:

"Hello, I have sought advice from our Officer, this would be considered a private and civil matter. Although I fully sympathise with the case you have put forward, it is unfortunate that it was a private operator and out of our area. Officers would advise that you seek your own legal advice for instance from CAB or a solicitor.

I also emailed my MP but still awaiting a response from her.

I think you did amazingly well to put it all together in such short order. Well done. 👍
Thank you for your kind words @Umkomaas but seriously could not have done it without this forum. Felt like a right student doing last-minute cramming and burning the midnight oil  :#

I too noticed that nothing of this sort was mentioned in the IPC's code of practice unlike BPA's COP, but thought perhaps it hasn't been updated after the recent consultation on keying errors... not realising I had mixed 'parliament will' with Mr WILL Hurley oops - at that point panic and tiredness was setting in  :#

IAS' last email to me was 2 weeks ago: "Your appeal has been sent to the parking operator so that they can provide their account. The Parking Operator is now provided 5 working days to upload sufficient evidence to show that you are liable for the charge". When I logged online earlier it was still showing as: "Operator to upload prima facie case by 05/01/2021 23:59".

Hardly surprising, given the time of year.  Most PPCs admin 'teams' were likely closed for the past ten days and went back to work yesterday.

    Hello,
I received another email from the Cllr's office:

    Subject: RE:PCN Parking Issue

    Hi All,

We have sought advice from Appeals Officer who unfortunately cannot advise or comment as the charge notice was issued in another district and by a private operator. Private operators operate under very different rules and legislation to the Council. The enquirer should be advised to seek their own legal advice for instance from CAB.

    Kind regards

    Matt
