Thrifty I wouldn’t worry about what others think, it’s a compassionate sign off. If you list straight to market place no one really sees listings unless you click on the individual listing. At least I’ve never noticed being told anyone I know listing and I know they do!I’ve been cleaning today, I have a workman coming in the morning and my house is, well, embarrassingly in disrepair. So I at least want it cleaner. It’s not too bad but I do struggle to keep up with it all. Thank goodness for my dishwasher! I’m almost done, just taking a breather and kicking myself for not doing a slow cooker dinner!I’m gathering stuff for a car boot sale though so the cleaning is helping that. I’ve been given 3 bags of books which I’m going through slowly to ziffit and then they will go in the car boot too. Paracetamol and a cuppa time I thinkOh and well done driving test!Life happens, live it well.11

@Thrifty_Taylor sending get well wishes to hubby. Good that you are keeping busy and sorting ready for selling. Last thing you need is someone having a misjudgement on FB. Could you try other selling places instead?8

Thank you friends. I've been putting some things on eboy already, but thought I'd advertise locally with son's ukulele. We live on an island, so don't have Gumtree, etc here. Will sort some more things out in the next few days, then there'll be no stopping me😊 Phoned work today & told them I'll be returning on Monday, the secretary & head teacher sounded really pleased to have me back soon. It was lovely to speak to them.
Happy Thursday when it comes!

@Thrifty_Taylor Hope both of you are coping with what sounds like a bit of a setback. Your poor husband.
@jak Congratulations, you really are keeping busy!, Hope you manage to get some driving lessons now.
Budget wasn't too bad really, the overspend was petrol so I will be able to claim some back as mileage for work. This morning I need to get some superglue as various items need to be mended. Lots of little jobs to do, need to make a draught excluder for the bottom of the front door and quite a list of indoor jobs. Shame it's still really cold, my garden needs another tidy up and want to get some seeds planted.
And finally, F&V boxes have re-appeared at the same time as before so happy about that.

Hi, I'm late to join. I'm an asthmatic, who's not working at the present time. My aim is to spend under £4000 on everything, which includes council tax etc. Unfortunately, i need a new waterproof coat and dentristy work is an unknown. I'm used to saving, as I was very broke in my early twenties.
My aim is to keep my expenditure very low for the next few years.

Keep forgetting to post this so will do it whilst I remember.
If you have dog(s) or cat(s) who are moulting or you groom them regularly, leave the hairs outside in your garden if you can. Birds are nesting at the moment and love to line their nests with it. Got a very happy pair of sparrows nesting nearby!.
@pearl123 Welcome and good luck with your budget.13 -
Welcome Pearl, happy frugaling.Very relived to say the lovely workman today was able to do the job at a much lower expense than predicted. Such a relief so I’m only £4 overdrawn before I get paid tomorrow. House emergencies suck! I now need to build up my emergency fund again. I think he saw the general disrepair of my house and went out of his way to do the job as cheap as possible. What a lovely man.I’m going to order my green waste bin tomorrow, it’s cheaper than a skip and spread over the year. Which means I can potter in the garden rather than rush to fill the skip. This feels like a win win as I can enjoy the process rather than stress and help my neighbour by letting her pop her grass cuttings in. She is going to help me with some tip runs over the next few months so I’m glad to be able to offer her something useful.Life happens, live it well.12

willow_loulou, does your council or the waste removal company have cheap or free green waste bins? Or a local branch of some Green Party or similar? And: congratulations on having an emergency fund to cope with the emergency! I have been fortunate to get a lot of items reasonably locally on the waste site Olio. Today I ate almost exclusively with their leftovers and still have some for the future. It's so hard to fathom that we import goods from the likes of Peru and Senegal, then put them in landfill if they don't sell in our stores. It seems like the more options we have with food and the terrific advances in keeping them safely, that over the years we have become indifferent to waste, and therefore need.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
