I bought a house but I was not provided any paperwork for the solar panels

You have to claim the feed in tariffs from your supplier but for that you will need the FIT number.Are you sure you own the panels, and they weren’t a rent a foot deal?0

This assumes the installation occurred before March 2019 when FIT stopped.0 -
You will still be using the output from the panels, but you need the paperwork for the FIT payments. You and your solicitor should have checked at the time of purchase.

When I bought my house it had solar panels installed, fully owned by the previous owner and passed onto me as part of the house purchase. In order to claim the FIT payments, I needed to prove to the FIT provider (in my case, British Gas) that the panels actually did belong to me. They asked for either a copy of the property deeds showing that the panels were part of the house purchase (they aren't shown on there) or a letter from my solicitor confirming that they were included. I therefore had to get onto my solicitor to ask for a letter that I could forward to the provider.0

Chris, this should have been sorted by your solicitor. The seller should have filled out the necessary forms and submitted them to whoever they receive their FIT from.
Are you SURE they were going to pass on these to you in FULL? And not keep the FIT?
What did the EA particulars says about the panels?0 -

The current Property Information Form (TA6) asks:4.6 Have solar panels been installed? If Yes: (a) In what year were the solar panels installed? (b) Are the solar panels owned outright? (c) Has a long lease of the roof/air space been granted to a solar panel provider? If Yes, please supply copies of the relevant documents e.g. copies of electricity bills for feed in tariffs.I'm pretty sure the previous one (before February 2020) had a similar question.So what replies did your vendor supply to your solicitor with respect to the panels?1

As others have said it is a standard part of tbe conveyancing process. Not much help to you now but for anyone buying reading the thread if there are solar panels ensure all the documentation is available before exchange. If there is any issue it can cost a fortune to resolve if the panels are not owned outright.0
