Installed today.. bring on the summer
Very pleased neat and tidy team.. even managed to get a system into my bedroom where there was no loft access (they had to take a concrete block out of the wall)

Micky, would you mind posting some specs/prices and even pics?  I'm very interested in this sort of heating.
I think it is quite neat, there is an extension and solid wall where the brickwork changes colour to the left of the pipes going into the loft so they had to go into the loft and through an existing vent and a concrete block wall to connect the bedroom unit.. the downstairs unit feed goes into my garage then directly through the wall into the living room unit.  The power which is a single 13 amp plug runs alongside my solar power cables so "unseen".
These are the internal units installed just under 3K... I could not get them to agree that 5% VAT was allowed

That does look good, thanks. We live in a bungalow so would be relatively easy for us although the pipe runs may be longer because our living roon and bedroom at at opposite ends.

If you have an outside wall where you want the indoor units mounting it can be much neater... both of mine are in internal walls... Or I could have put the external unit on the other side of my house it would have been perfect but sadly that would have meant it was above my neighbours drive ;)
The run through the loft is quite long is not sure what length these can go to.. I needed a pump in the loft for the drain.

I could mount the units on external walls quite easily.  I looked up some units online and on these the pipes can be 25m single / 50m total for a 2/3 unit system so quite a lot.

In that case depending on how many units you want as above stated 2 single units less expensive than a double you could possibly just mount the external unit directly behind the internal unot.. VERY neat and no long pipe runs

From my understanding the shorter the pipe run the better. Apparently less opportunity for heat loss per metre run, or something!

    Well I that makes sense

Thanks for that, I was wondering if you needed a condensate pump. That was one of the solutions for us when looking for a second install location. Of course after nearly 2hrs of running through many options with the installer, Wifey arrived home and suggested we install it in the one place I'd ruled out because I didn't think she'd like it there. I'm sure there's a moral in that tale somewhere!
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
  • Now mine is in I would have had the bedroom plumed slightly differently...
The pipes come out of the side and into the loft through a wall and out to the soffit... seeing how neat the trunking is with hindsight I would have had it taken straight out of the back into the adjoining bedroom and into the loft... no going through a wall and no trunking in the bedroom I use.. the other bedroom is used as our fitness room.  I guess that was not suggested as most people would probably not want the piping in a different room and there is the possibility of causing some damage in a completely different room

Yes I could do that, especially since both could be located our of sight round the side/back and no neighbours to worry about.
