I've started saving £200 a month as a long term thing so I won't be reducing the mortgage by quite so much, but hopefully in the long run it will be worthwhile! Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £189,497.12Overpayments since 27.03.19: £53,964.80Moving fund so far £2500 - Premium bonds £9,5001

well done everyone on the progress made.
Unfortunately my finances have taken a bit of a hit of late due to reduction in work hours and also personal circumstances since my dad passed away earlier this year. As such, i have not been able to make any more OP'S for August, and may have to place a pause on the overpayments for the rest this year, will have to see if things go over the coming months.
However, i am not going to let it get me down, as had i not made the OP's that i had over the years to know, i would've been in a lot worse situation - - given i have paid off over £27,000 in overpayments over the years, have been able to get lower interest rates sooner at points due to dropping LTV's in time for re-fixes, and indeed have lower monthly required payments at this point of time where that will help with the circumstances.
Good luck all and keep going, and hopefully i may be able to re-start the overpayment journey sooner than i anticipate at the moment.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..5 -
