Building savings to bubblewrap my new life.

Thanks @atrixa, @longway2go and @MovingForwards
It's amazing how quickly my EF is starting to build.
Trying not to be annoyed that Hell-i-fax charged me £9.50 to close my account. At least it is closed and that is the important thing.
Saved £4.80 by avoiding transport and walking to my fave A1d1 instead with a rucksack. Picked up some YS diced lamb. I have lots of mushrooms so will be making a lamb and mushroom curry with quinoa.
My bike shop is closed so no cycling until I can get a new tyre in the NY. Looking on the positive side I should get more walking done. Switching walking to early mornings to avoid people as I live in tier 4.
The house is a tip (again) My focus for today is working towards a deep cleaned house, the smell of polish, fresh flowers on the table and sacred music floating through the house when I wake up on Christmas day.

The account has gone and the saved money will be put to good use.
Bite size tidying produces consistent results, less pressure and frustration.

I am joining you on the house cleaning - it's been taking a back seat with Xmas and other stuff! Shame about the flat tyre, but, maybe you could get a new one in the sales? But think of all those calories you will be burning by walking...."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thanks @MovingForwards I do bite sized cleaning. In fact half mouthfuls or nibbles really...Bigger mouthfuls might be the order of the day if I am to meet my Christmas day target
Getting there.
Thanks @Irenadler. New tyres aren't really a sale item but I will get one in the NY. I will burn calories but cycling I burn more as I go faster...Walking however is better for exercising my joints so it's swings and roundabouts...
I've not spent any money on fares for 9 days saving £12. Not bad.
I did however buy a £25 soup maker, not strictly essential but a good price and it will encourage me to have soup daily for lunch so the longterm savings outweigh the cost of the soup maker. It will also be useful as I am soon to be cooker less.
The rest of the day will be continuing with cleaning and decluttering with a bit of sneaky reading thrown in
Hope everyone is having a good dayIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I do tiny bites of cleaning, it gets done which is the main thing 🤗
Well done of the transport savings.
I think you will get a lot of use out of your soupmaker, as it's a year round meal, not restricted to a season.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Great job on the transport savings! I walk everywhere nowadays, great for the wallet if not my feet. Enjoy your reading and Merry Christmas!1

Thank you all for the Happy Christmas messages
I used the soup maker @atrixa and @MovingForwards. I have to say I was impressed at the speed and efficiency. The plan is to make soup daily as a default. Really pleased
I also tested the induction hob and that also works fine.
The gas cooker will need disconnecting. I will have to look for a gas engineer. I can see how to do it myself but where gas or electricity are concerned I'm a bit more cautious.
I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas
