Thank you for the good luck wishes.
Assessments all booked, suddenly all feels so real!
I've decided not to tell anyone about this in real life for as long as I can, so I will book the day off for my initial scan & bloods.
We won't have the money for a holiday this year so hopefully I can stretch my annual leave to cover the time I need off.

Back at work 2 days, it's a shock to the system being so busy after a chilled Christmas & new year!!
Still nice to get back into the swing of things.
Dhs birthday present has arrived, a couple of little accompanying bits to on their way all paid for no debt. A good start to the year!
3rd assignment result in for pre Christmas module not one of my highest grades but a good enough pass. Very relieved to start next semester with no overhanging resits! Long may this continue!!

Signature updated, I know our overpayments are not what others achieve on here, but its quite a chunk we pay yearly all in all. Our time will come in the meantime slow and steady is all we can do.
Mse decisions
Our eldest dog pet insurance doubled, I'm guessing age related but I couldn't justify that particularly when our utilities contract runs out 1st March, we are bracing ourselves for astronomical bills.
So we made the decision to insure our pet for less, still a lifetime policy but lower annual limit. I felt a bit sick thinking of the what ifs, but its better to have some insurance than none at all. That's halved the monthly payment. Saved £8 on existing payment £20 on proposed renewal
Utilities: we are paying 180 a month gas & electric in contract until 1st march. Our daily usage has dropped compared to last year for gas our carpets made a difference upstairs gets warm quickly. Front door has helped a bit. Livingroom patio doors and kitchen window do let some cold in as does dds window so those are a priority if we can stretch to them this year.
Water has gone up from 25 to 28 (metered)
Cancelled a streaming subscription it was on offer until March but we are not really watching it enough compared to others we have. Saved £3.99
I kept a shop under budget last week. We need a freezer clear out really so planning to do a top up shop this weekend.
Kitchen has been painted, so calendar is on the wall, will make a meal plan see if that helps a bit. We do find when we plan although we might swap the days around if we want something different, it does reduce the hassle of deciding what we want / can be bothered to cook after work.
I went out to my compost bin which I really have just left to it most if the time, we only put in grass from mowing the lawn and twigs from trees, some cardboard but aside from plums from our old tree we haven't really put in any food as we were worried about attracting rats. I started to think it wouldn't do anything but low and behold it still worked! Not sure how nutritional it'll be for growing veg but I can always add feed separately if I need to. Free compost woohoo!!
Going to have a look through my seed collection and see if I can start on seedlings indoors in the next month or two, test it out!

Another weekend coming to a close, so so fast!
It was productive but a little busy.
We visited FIL today, so nice having family only an hour drive away, its been 15-20 years since either of us had that.
We stopped by at a sort of aladins cave it had antiques, anything and everything you can imagine, stopped there for lunch too a really nice afternoon.
Uni in campus starts this week, it'll be our first ever day not online! Another anatomy module, graded by oral assessment. I need to get over the excitement and quickly get to grips with this, I'm not the most articulate at the best of times, scientific or medical terms just make my head spin, its like another language!
We will be building up for work placements after easter. I'm nervous about placement, I'm good at what I do in the area I'm in, but in another area it could literally be starting from scratch. Pressure will be on!

Uni is going well, as intense as ever but that does make the weeks fly.
Payday was Friday, looking forward to getting payments allocated to debts & savings.
It was a social day yesterday, late celebrations for DHs birthday, we went out for brunch then picked up the wood for his pizza oven, I was nervous about this gift as it was quite spontaneous but he was extatic and is looking forward to trying it out today.
I need to collect dd from a friends house, get some more washing on then crack on with homework. 3 weeks in I already miss having chilled Sundays.
I was so determined to give myself back weekends but with the amount of work we need to do its just not possible to fit it all in the evenings. One module which gives us a good 7 hours homework alone is a short module, so I hope when that's done I can feel a bit more balanced, for a short while anyway!MFW

Intense day today, and dreading the day tomorrow. I hope it goes a lot better than I'm envisaging it will.
When days like this happen I feel very out of my depth and start wondering am I doing the right thing progressing or should I take a step back and stay at a level I'm comfortable with.
I could envisage staying at this level and feeling comfortable in my role. Its only really the prospect of earning more so that when DH needs to he can ease off work and save his poor back that drives me on.
But there are days like these I think what am I doing!

It's not hugely helpful in the moment but it will all be worth it in the end. It's also a learning curve- no-one is ever brilliant at every aspect of a new job/new level of qualification when they first start out. Stuff that massively phases you now will become second nature eventually.Bottom line;
£49k paid off
Car HP paid off
Debt Free!
Saved Escape fund and moved out.
Current focus; saving Emergency fund2 -
£749 full service & works required for MOT, that was a bit of a shocker, thank goodness we had savings in various pots to cover it. No plans to change car with the increase in prices. Going to up our car savings budget to be prepared for similar bills going forward.
Car insurance up £5 pm
Gas & electric contract runs out 1st March so will be moving over to the cap.
Money moved over to savings and debts for this month, good progress being made all in all.

Triple checking the spreadsheet and bank.
Our assessment is fast approaching 3 weeks until initial tests and 4 weeks until we hopefully have a plan of action ivf wise.
I expect our pots will be completely empty come end of April ready for some intense saving which ever direction we go in!
We have a wedding to go to in March so just before the process starts, and another in September, I was thinking I'd find a dress that works for both to save money then when the ivf dates popped into my head I realised and got all giddy thinking at that point if we are lucky the same dress might not fit and we could be excitedly preparing for our little one!
It all seems a bit surreal.

We have ended the month with good credit in both joint and personal accounts for the first time in a long time so topped up our ivf pot- still leaving a good balance to carry over post payday.
Tomorrow should bring a slightly bigger payday, planning to tuck any extra into the ivf pot.
My hope is we are covered for worst case spends in ivf, but if things go well and there's money left in pot it can then be split to overpay & future savings.
Small token overpayment though so overpayment is now at 400.
I found out last week we can use a discount card for our sector which I've just recieved, hard to know yet if it'll have a big impact day to day living, but for leisurely things like eating out and clothes it will help. We don't eat out alot especially whilst saving hard to it might be a few months before it gets some decent use.
Despite fallen fences in the estate ours just about stayed up during storms. We will be changing our side in the next month or two with concrete posts which our neighbour on left had done.
Somehow my baby apple tree survived - it had literally been planted a week before and checking it out this week I can see little buds starting to push through! It's in a huge pot, I hope big enough to be able to produce fruit, I didn't want it in the ground as no concrete decisions have been made yet.
Yesterday I started of a couple of tomato seeds from the monthly magazine. They are sitting in the plastic greenhouse for now. Have a couple of flower seeds to sow over March/ April.
Happy to see our daffodils and hyacinths are starting to push through the soil looking forward to seeing some colour!
